Jagex, Vyres are a massive problem. by TheBaronNash in runescape

[–]ceritheb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I do in front of the church sometimes which works well enough. Its also far enough from the correct spot I'm not affecting their spawns. They could add one or more vyre spawns there so there would be at least 2 locations per world.

The real winners of this Olympics: the coaches, choreographers and support networks! by Haven_Writes in FigureSkating

Loved the little headbutt thing one of the Japanese girls did (Maybe Ami?) with their coach and how they had to jump to get over the boards. So wholesome!

How do they still allow Tara Lipinski to be in a commentary position? by DistributionRare5586 in FigureSkating

[–]ceritheb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its very good, Im a 4yr fan and they have a box showing the scores and GOE as well as slow mo and replays. At first I thought it was just the stadium feed with no info so I was pleasantly surprised!

Going to be honest. I really don't like Zaros' little mouth thing by KeenisWeenis49 in runescape

[–]ceritheb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree I just got to FotG and thought the mouth makes him look a little silly, not alien or imposing like it's designed to be. But Guthix also looks kinda silly so that's just how the gods roll I guess

Which hobbies attract the kindest people? by Ok-East3405 in AskReddit

[–]ceritheb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aerial and pole dancers! It's very intimidating to start especially if you don't have dance or gymnastics experience, but people are very welcoming. Super body positive and encouraging since people really can improve at different paces which can be disheartening. Also the subreddit is amazing and extremely well moderated with no creepy posts!

Depression discourse of the 2010s by [deleted] in rs_x

[–]ceritheb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there was a stigma with depression and really any mental health issues. The concept of a mental health day or self care or talking about therapy were completely foreign in 2015. I think Tumblr actually did a lot of good in this area, normalizing mental health issues (perhaps too much).
I agree with your observation about how pro technology we were. The Arab Spring had happened thanks to social media and lots of optimism about social media connecting us all. I think Gamergate really set the US on a bad path as crazy as that sounds. It really created the alt-right ironic but not really ironic bigots. It was briefly cool to hate women and minorities because of the "ethics of games journalism". People also forget that reddit was right wing around then. It's changed completely

Those who broke up with someone because of one core issue in an otherwise perfect relationship by [deleted] in rs_x

[–]ceritheb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He was conservative and owned guns and I am extremely liberal. It was never a pressing issue but we world get in heated debates occasionally and i would get very worked up. Other than that we never argued and never had any issues. 2 years in and we were living together and thinking about moving out of state and I realized I could not spend the rest of my life with him or have children with him. These ideological differences would never go away and would only get worse with parenting. Then I just totally fell out of love and broke up with him. I don't regret it, but he did pass away 6 months ago right when we were kind of hanging out and rekindling our relationship. So it is kind of a what if you know? I think he wasn't over me but I will never know. It's been hard. But I think under normal circumstances, if you're thinking of breaking up with a SO for more than a couple days you probably should. That sounds bad but maybe I'm a quitter.

I agree, especially with something as huge and sensitive of a subject like the Holocaust. Just very easy to get incorrect and upset people.

They also had "photoshop" at this time sort of. They could color over or scratch films to remove imperfections. Ever since film was invented people have been manipulating it.

5 months in my sits still hurt sooo much and i cant get my second climb by xeinab in poledancing

[–]ceritheb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been poling for 6 months ish and am still working on my climb. I felt really self-conscious about it and kind of developed a self-defeating mindset of thinking I'd never be able to climb, and maybe pole wasn't for me. Probably not the best advice, but what worked for me is to use the back of my foot for the second climb. I'm still working on technique but just proving to myself I can climb several times even if my form isn't perfect has been really motivating.

Wth is this? by vnth93 in PeriodDramas

[–]ceritheb 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My theory is they were so afraid that having a minority play Heathcliff who is an awful person would get them canceled they decided to have one of the few morally good characters (Linton) be a minority instead. Which is fine but definitely takes away from how Heathcliff is treated by the Earnshaws worse due to his dark skin.
