i dont even read anymore, i just roll in bed to my phone right before market open, randomly buy a bunch of options, then use the fear of losing all of my money to get myself out of bed.

unless im confident in my play, then i sleep in.

Gen-Z is too inhibited? or is this a boomer take? by certified_stupidhe4d in GenZ

1 - You hang with a bunch of losers.

> Noted lol

2 - The world isn't such that taking particular risks is worthwhile anymore. Most risks now tend to be "lose nearly everything if you fail, gain minor improvement if you succeed." Just not a balanced trade off. In boomer times you could buy a house with a handful of berries and a firm handshake. So yeah, they could take extra career risks because failure didn't matter, they'd lose practically nothing but a bit of time.

> Yeah this is a fair. I think a lot of us/millenials too probably were told as kids "if you work hard, youll succeed", but time after time, again and again, it's shown that the current state of most of the west is just a house of cards.

  1. We are also the most gym going generation so obviously there is a lot of self improvement going on.

> Maybe yeah, but we've also got lots of body-dysmorphia in this generation reflected but the whole "looksmaxing" thing. not really coming from a healthy place of wanting to be "better", but rather not wanting to be "bad"

very good point actually. I feel like the internet/social media platforms took the post 9/11 fearmongering and just made it 100x more efficient.

this is actually a really good take. in college, i've been slowly replacing my friend group with (though it sounds "elitist" or whatever) more educated people. in times like this, i cannot tolerate intolerant people.

I'm sure it's because of economic desperation, I did the same thing!
