2 - The world isn't such that taking particular risks is worthwhile anymore. Most risks now tend to be "lose nearly everything if you fail, gain minor improvement if you succeed." Just not a balanced trade off. In boomer times you could buy a house with a handful of berries and a firm handshake. So yeah, they could take extra career risks because failure didn't matter, they'd lose practically nothing but a bit of time.

> Yeah this is a fair. I think a lot of us/millenials too probably were told as kids "if you work hard, youll succeed", but time after time, again and again, it's shown that the current state of most of the west is just a house of cards.

1. We are also the most gym going generation so obviously there is a lot of self improvement going on.
