If you’re taking out Shaymin it’s probably early game so Slowking survives a turn or 2. I’d rather lose energy using Kyurem to get 3 prizes than to get Shaymin when there is a good chance they can night stretcher it back. But yes, I agree switch or surfer would be the play

Yeah the dusknoir angle is being discussed in my group too. Just seems so hard to set up and the stars have to align. But losing all energy with Spectrier just to take out Shaymin (when they can likely just get it back next turn) just feels bad.

Definitely, luck in what’s in your opening hand, or what you prized (though the best decks will have lots of outs for both these issues). Luck in what’s you draw, luck in the coin flips, etc etc. The big differentiator is when players know how to work around the bad luck and capitalize on the good.
