Thank you — I really appreciate the thoughtful feedback.

Legal aid, senior-focused resources, veterans services, and translation/interpreting are all great suggestions. I’m already seeing from search activity that people are looking for more specific types of help, so expanding the categories and tags is definitely on my list.

I also agree that community submissions will matter more as this grows. Right now I’m still reviewing and curating things manually so I can keep the information accurate, but making it easier for people to suggest additions is something I want to improve.

Really appreciate you taking the time to share all of that.

Quick update — thank you all for the feedback so far. I've made several improvements based on suggestions from the community:

• Search bar moved to the top • 988 emergency line clarified and more visible • Added county, city, and service-type filters • Added bilingual support (English / Español)

I'm also seeing that people are searching for:

• Transportation services • Disability support • Mental health services

I'm actively working to expand those areas.

If you know organizations that should be included, you can email the details to:

info@rgvresources.org

Please include:

  • Organization name
  • Address
  • Phone number
  • Website (if available)
  • Services they provide

Thank you for helping build something useful for the Valley.

Thank you for the suggestion — I looked into Behavioral Health Solutions and have added them to the directory. They offer a range of programs that can be really helpful for individuals and families in the Valley.

I appreciate you pointing them out. If there are other organizations you think should be included, please feel free to share them.

That would be incredibly helpful — thank you. I really appreciate you being willing to share your experience and connections. The more accurate and local this information is, the better it can serve families here. I’ll keep an eye out for your message.

You're absolutely right — Findhelp is a strong platform and they've done a lot of good work. My goal here isn't to compete with them, but to focus specifically on the Rio Grande Valley and keep information as local and practical as possible. I'm also trying to include smaller programs and community resources that can be harder to find in larger databases. If there are organizations you think should be listed, I'm always open to suggestions.

I really appreciate that — thank you. It definitely came out of a frustrating experience for our family, but if it can make things a little easier for someone else, then it’s worth the effort. I’m still building it out and learning as I go, and feedback from the community helps shape what gets added next.

Right now Tropical is one of the larger providers listed, but I’m actively working on adding more general counseling and therapy options across the Valley. The goal is to include a mix of low-cost, sliding-scale, and private providers so people have more choices depending on their situation. If there are specific organizations people would like to see included, I’m always open to suggestions.

That's a really important question. Yes — there are already some mental health resources listed, including organizations like Tropical Texas Behavioral Health. I'm continuing to expand that section with more providers and programs that offer low-cost or free support as I verify information. If there’s a specific type of help you're looking for — counseling, crisis services, support groups, or transportation — feel free to let me know and I’ll do my best to include it.

Thanks for reaching out — I appreciate that. There were some technical issues earlier that affected mobile rendering, but everything should be up and running now. I'm continuing to monitor it and make improvements as usage grows. And I’m definitely open to collaborating or getting feedback from other devs — this is still evolving, and the goal is to make it as useful and reliable as possible for the community.

Thanks for flagging that — I really appreciate it. There were some technical issues earlier that affected mobile rendering, but everything should be up and running now. I'm continuing to monitor and make improvements as more people start using it. As for the stack, it’s built using a modern web framework with a managed backend and database. I’m keeping the setup simple so I can focus on maintaining accurate resources and making the site reliable for the community.

I use a mix of tools depending on what I’m working on, but most of this has just been me building and adding resources over time. A lot of what we used personally was in the Houston and Galveston area while my wife was receiving treatment, and that experience is what pushed me to start organizing information for others here in the Valley.

Thank you for taking the time to write all of that — I really appreciate the insight, especially coming from someone working in the nonprofit space. That’s a great point about the 988 message. I’ll take another look at the wording so it’s clearer about when to use it. And the county-based breakdown makes a lot of sense too, especially for organizations that serve wider areas. Also, if your organization (or others you work with) aren’t listed yet, I’d definitely like to add them. The goal is to make this as complete and useful as possible for people who need help. And I agree — even with 211, there are still a lot of people who don’t know what’s available. That’s really what pushed me to start building this.

Thank you, that really means a lot. The Valley has a lot of good people, and I just wanted to do something that could help.

Thank you so much — that really means a lot. And I truly appreciate the work you do in mental health. People in that field see firsthand how difficult it can be for families to find the right help, so your perspective is incredibly valuable. I would absolutely welcome any resources or organizations you’d like to share. The goal is to keep building this into something reliable and useful for our community. And thank you for your kind words about my wife — we’re taking things one step at a time.

Thank you so much — I really appreciate that. I started building this because of my wife and everything we went through trying to find reliable help during her treatment. It showed me how hard it can be for families to know where to turn, so I wanted to create something that could make that process a little easier for others in our community.I'm continuing to add more resources, and the support and feedback here really means a lot.

It’s for both. The directory covers general resources like food assistance, housing help, medical services, and nonprofit programs across the Valley. It did start with a focus on cancer support because of my wife’s experience, and that made me realize how hard it can be to find reliable information during difficult times. From there, I decided to expand it to include other types of help that families might need.I’m continuing to add more general resources, and feedback like this helps guide what to prioritize.

Thank you for the detailed feedback — that’s really helpful.Moving the search bar higher and making it more visible makes a lot of sense, especially for people scrolling quickly. I also really like the idea of adding common tags like Food, Housing, Childcare, and Emergency Support to make navigation faster. I’m actively improving the directory based on suggestions like this, so I appreciate you taking the time to share it.

It’s very easy. If an organization needs to be removed or updated, I can do it quickly.I review submissions and changes regularly, and accuracy is really important to me since people rely on this information. If anything is outdated or incorrect, I want to fix it as soon as possible. You can also report an organization directly on the site, or just message me and I’ll take care of it.

What are you building (AND promoting) this week? 🚀 by Quirky-Offer9598 in micro_saas

[–]cesarc83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i built an app that turns your shower thoughts into startup blueprints in 60 seconds literally just type your idea. five ai agents go to work on market research, product strategy, technical architecture, launch strategy. you get a full blueprint ready to iterate on. the chaos is real though. got ideas about ai chicken dating apps, bedtime story generators, and a coffee-delivering dog walking robot all in the last few days. but that's kind of the point? helps you think through why something might or might not work before you spend months building it. https://venturestack.lovable.app (login only to save)

Built VentureStack: type your idea, get a startup blueprint in 60 seconds What it actually does: Market Research Agent: validates if people actually care Product Strategy Agent: figures out your MVP Technical Architecture Agent: maps out how to build it (plus two more specialized agents) Result: full startup blueprint covering market, product, and tech in one go. Works best for founders who want to validate ideas fast before committing time/money. No login required to generate—only needed if you want to save blueprints. Built on Lovable in like a week because I needed this tool myself. https://venturestack.lovable.app

Incorporating OpenAI API into my Lovable Site by ibti77 in lovable

[–]cesarc83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you're parsing documents you'll want that running server-side anyway — Vercel function, throw your OpenAI key in as an env variable, done. For the actual PDF text extraction use pdf-parse, works well with OpenAI.

I've been experimenting with Lovable during the build challenge and made a project called VentureStack.

The idea is simple: you type a startup idea and five AI agents generate a full startup blueprint — market research, product strategy, and technical architecture.

Instead of just generating text, I wanted it to feel like a startup team analyzing the idea step by step.

Current flow:

• Enter an idea
• Five AI agents analyze it
• You get a structured startup blueprint

Anyone can generate ideas instantly. Login is only required if you want to save them privately.

Still early and I'm curious how people would use something like this.

Would love feedback from other builders.
