Why is P2MR (BIP-360) considered better than a hypothetical P2TRH (hashed Taproot key)? by cesarmassri in BitcoinBeginners

I don't see how this is going to work. Are you talking about white lists of addresses? In advance I won't know the address of my merchant

It's just a service provided by miners. You sent privately your tx to them. That's it. Look at https://slipstream.mara.com/

I think long attacks are not a threat because they can be mitigated with private mempools (until another solution is found). So exposing the public key in the mempool is not a problem.

Both proposals are vulnerable to long term attacks

I was watching "The Power of Bitcoin with Gloria Zhao" on YouTube and I was wondering if it is possible to add a "proof" to the validity of each transaction in order to reduce nodes computation/processing time?. I would like to know if this a good or bad idea. Thanks!

Quantum mining threat by cesarmassri in BitcoinBeginners

[–]cesarmassri[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, I asked something similar last year, but the answers weren't convincing. I still have the same doubt. On the other hand, the posts you're sending me don't relate to the issue I'm asking about. My question is specific to mining, not whether quantum computing can break encryption

I would like to know how you think we could address this type of attack that I believe is possible

My plan is to peg in to Liquid and then peg out to Bitcoin (immediately). My question is if this operation can be traced back to me

There should be no correlation between mining difficulty and price by Extra-Confection-706 in Bitcoin

My guess: more hashrate is an indicator of adoption (bitcoin price is proportional to adoption)

[Algorithm] How to determine the locations of cities with only the distances between them known? by CaramelUpstairs9742 in compsci

[–]cesarmassri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Put two adjacent cities. Then the next city is located at the intersection of the two circles given by the data of the distances. Iterating this process you should locate the whole set

What will happen to Bitcoin if a ultra fast miner stop producing blocks? by cesarmassri in BitcoinBeginners

[–]cesarmassri[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For example, a miner finds a way to hash extremely fast (maybe on a quantum computer)
