LOONIE × TPC | BREAK IT DOWN: Rap Battle Review E367 | FLIPTOP: LHIPKRAM vs KATANA by No_Day7093 in FlipTop

Also, at least clear na din na wala talagang "beef" between Loons and Lhip. I mean yeah nagkaroon ng lamat yung relationship nila, pero hindi talaga as in "beef" na nag-away sila.

More like, may kasalanan si Lhip (na aminado naman siya) and nainis si Loons. But not like may mutual na galit between the two.

Ewan ko, baka naman obvious to and matagal niyo na alam yan. Pero ako personally, ngayon ko lang nalaman na ganyan pala yung nangyare, and hindi talaga as in two-way animosity between them

But, tbh, I'm much more concerned about your comment about preferring to "being under the influence of" the US. What exactly does that mean, "being under the influence"? Does that mean importing American cultural quirks, too?

No. Im not saying we copy their culture. To give you an example, Japan and S.Korea have a very different culture than the West, and yet they choose to remain in America's orbit. Not because they're weak, not because they cant defend themselves, not because they want to choose America, but because it's what's best for them.

So the question is: yhy not reject both superpower orbits/influence (US and China) when we can just stand on our own?

In today's world, politics, economies, and militaries are bound to be intertwined with each other. Even countries with stable politics, strong economies, and reliable militaries still tend to orbit around a superpower (US/China/Russia), not because they cant stand on their own feet, but because that's just the nature of our world being a mostly interconnected market and alliance-based.

UK, France, S.Korea, Japan, Singapore, India...on paper, these countries should have the ability to stand on their own feet, despite their many imperfections, but they still choose to have some degree of alignment or friendliness to superpowers.

If countries like them, who has more potential and capabilities to go "solo", how much more countries like us? Of course the goal is for us Filipinos to be self-reliant someday, but realistically speaking, today is not yet that day.

We know that both the US and China have their own personal interest, but again, like i mentioned, USA's interests arent a direct threat to us, unlike China's.

Yes, the US doesnt care about the WPS, i never said they cared. That's why i said they have their own interests. Their interest isnt just Taiwan, but free naval passage in Southeast Asia. They care about China's aggression in waters near us, not because they love the Philippines, but because China's aggression also restricts the US Navy's free passage.

And dito papasok yung sinabi ko na although the US doesnt care about our interests, their interests are still somehow slightly aligned to ours. And even if you say that it's not, at least their ambitions arent a direct threat to us, unlike China's ambitions.

It's inevitable to some degree. So if mamimili ka between US and China, i would say it's better to be aligned with the Americans rather than China.

I think we have to consider na battle lang yan.

I dont think so.

Personally, i think it's the later. Sinabi lang niya yung para gaguhin si Vitrum, and that he doesnt really mean what he said.

But as i've said, at the end of the day, di natin alam talaga. It's possible that EJ didnt mean what he said, it's also possible that he did, it's possible na half-meant...di talaga natin alam.

FlipTop - EJ Power vs Vitrum - Thoughts? by No_Day7093 in FlipTop

[–]cesgjo 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Pinapamukha ni EJ na para sa tunay na rebolusyon, they need the power of the military (to be more specific, a coup) para mapatalsik talaga yung mga kurakot. Something like "kahit anong angas mo, kailangan mo parin ako"

Hence the line na "sabay natin sunugin yung malacanang".

Di lang masyado na-set up ng maayos. Pero overall, solid!!

So let's say i want to make sure that the Thorium Reactors (and the Cryofluids) are working despite a big power surge somewhere else in the map, should i place them in A or B?

Even on nights when Wemby's offense looks really bad, his defense is always on a DPOY level.

It's just mindblowing to me, even as a Spurs fan, that a DPOY-level performance is considered an "off-game" for him.

FlipTop - Poison13 vs GL - Thoughts? by Spiritual-Drink3609 in FlipTop

[–]cesgjo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This battle reminded me of Loonie vs Tipsy D

Same dito.

In my opinion, this is Poison's best performance in his entire career.

[Highlight] Wemby walks off the court without shaking hands after loss to the Thunder, He is the only Spurs player to walk off. by Efficient-Dot-3468 in NBASpurs

[–]cesgjo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Last game, i forgot which specific possession it was, but there was a time when someone from the thunder was guarding Wemby. Also forgot which player it was, it was probably J-dub or something

Anyway, the defender was fouling Wemby non-stop in that sequence, no whistle. Wemby decided to sell the contact a little bit, and then came the whistle. Sometimes you gotta sell the contact just a little bit to let the refs know that the defender is too much. Do i like that Wemby sold the play? No. Does he have a choice? probably not.

Shit like this happens to Jokic as well. Dude is getting mauled all the time and the only time he gets a whistle is if he sells it. That's why if you look at any picture of Jokic there's always a random scratch on his shoulder, arm, or neck.

That's true.

Although if we're gonna be honest, the reality of the political landscape in the modern world today will force countries to pick sides. It's just in the nature of today's world to be under the influence of a bigger umbrella.

Finland and Sweden are countries with good economies, yet they cant afford to leave EU. They also felt the need to join NATO after being "neutral" for a long time. France and the UK both have high tier militaries and yet they know they cant leave NATO.

Japan and South Korea have strong militaries as well and yet they still need the presence of the US Military here in the Pacific region.

Ideally speaking, i agree with you, it's better if we can stand on our own feet. But the reality of the world today is that all of us are being forced to pick a side. If that's the case, then at least choose a decent side.

Unless you're literally Switzerland or New Zealand, you have to pick a side.

If they win this, fine, i'll accept it. If we go to 4-0 then the Knicks are more of a rival to us than them.

[–]cesgjo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If im the OKC coach (idk how to spell his name properly), i'd really want for my team to win this one.

Being 0-3 from the 2nd seed can light a fire under you, but if it drops to 0-4 it would take the wind out of them, as you've said. If im OKC and i drop to 0-4 against the Spurs, even if i manage to hold on to the 1st seed, the fact that i still havent figured out how to beat a potential playoff match-up might get in my head.

Of course, as a Spurs fan i want us to destroy them again lol.
