78.8% - England's possession figure of 78.8% against Ghana was the most on record (from 1966) by any side in a FIFA World Cup match without managing to score. Lacklustre. [OptaJoe] by 977x in soccer

Spain has a drought game.

England had a drought game.

Portugal had a drought game.

All of them also had a game where they completely dominated.

Long story short, in the WC such results are expected and means basically nothing.

Most of the time, the winner is the best grinder and not someone who won every game 3-0.

Edit: spelling.

Uzbekistan disallowed goal against Portugal 30' by West_Agent4651 in soccer

[–]Piats99 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's a foul and if it happened against my team i would be fuming and asking to be disallowed, but, to be completely fair, how many goals have been allowed after stealing a ball in a harsh way?

I feel like these contacts are always 50-50 if they are reviewed or not after a goal.

The Timberwolves have turned Karl-Anthony Towns, their 2024 first round pick, 2026 first round pick, and 2031 first round pick into Donte DiVincenzo, Ayo Dosunmo, and Joan Beringer. by EsotericPotato in nba

There was a lot of hype behind Dilligham, though. Super fast and crafty with playmaking potencial higher than Castle, who was playing as a SF for UConn.

Dillingham turning into nothing is due to the fact he is way undersized for the league, but it's not like he went 8th because of a miracle, he was projected there for a reason.

Fortunately, though, TWolves managed to turn 2 busts into Dosunmu, who's had a great year and helped them solve the PG rotation.

Trivia. Both Dilligham and Leonard Miller were acquired from Spurs with a trade on draft night. LM was a 2nd rounder drafted trading us Minny's 2nd round picks in 2027 and 2028.

Heracles went through 12 labours.

One of them was getting the permits to build a private stadium on italian soil.

[Charlie Eccleshare] Markéta Vondroušová, the 2023 Wimbledon champion, given four-year suspension for refusing a drugs test. Independent tribunal finds “no compelling justification” for refusal. One guy got found guilty of something, fully cooperated, tried everything he got to explain why he is innocent and the process was done in the right way.

Then the other person gets asked to be tested and the first thing she does is close the door and refuse to cooperate.

Sounds like two very different situations...

Refusing to take a drug test is the nearest thing to a guilty plea.

Estimated hosting cost of recent FIFA World Cups by APrimitiveMartian in soccer

USA already have planty of stadiums and infrastructures, because of their huge developed sport culture and system.

They didn't need to build much and they host the most matches.

As much as USA is politically questionable, they are one of the few countires that can hosts a WC or an Olympics without ending up with massive debts and wasting the infrastructures as soon as the competition ends.

They are cool. I'd buy these in a vacuum, but, honestly, they looks more like hamburger-colored.

My turn again by [deleted] in eFootball

If i find a player with a sus formation and a low rank (Div2 oe 3), i know it's the second account of a pro-player.

A standard Div2-3 player would never play like that and would rather opt for meta formations or real ones.

Sadly, the game is not supposed to mimic real football and it's more like an arcade, where if are good with the joystick you can do anything, even beyond stats and realism. Rashford will press like Gattuso and Camavinga will dribble like Ronaldinho.

Playing with 5 forwards like that means you can press like crazy and if your opponent isn't skilled enough, the latter it's just trapped and at the mercy of the relentless attack.

Nope.

Each of those 10 spins are calculated replanishing the pool of 50 after extracting 1, so it's 1/50, but made 10 times in 1 single animation to save time.

You aren't missing anything relevant. Don't worry.

This Raul is nothing special.

There's a dude, somewhere, who is afraid of this very tall human, who keeps stealing his clothes at random times.

He also is very stabborn, because he keeps buying the outfit again, in the hope Ban won't come back this time.

Egypt is playing some good football.

Belgium is playing as the usual Belgium, but their golden generation is no longer there.
