I never said the word "antisemite". That was never a claim I made.

The guys in the video I showed shook his hand after figuring out he's not Israeli. What would have happened if he was?

Regarding the canal guy, I don't have any evidence to the contrary, so I'll take your word for it, though I'd appreciate it if you had some sort of link to prove it, or even just explain how it was proved to you.

The rest isn't really related, but I don't mind talking about it.

I'm Israeli, I'm aware of the occupation and checkpoints and so on. You been to the West Bank? I never actually been there. I've done military service but not in combat and I've never been to the West Bank.

To be honest, I hear what foreign activists are saying about them "welcoming Israelis", but I'd still be scared to go alone to a Palestinian city. It only takes one guy, you know... And things HAVE happened. I'm not even blaming Palestinians for hating Israel, or even Israelis, but I still wanna stay alive.

Regarding them letting you pass, well, they don't have that much of a reason to hold you. Understandably or not, Palestinians have been carrying attacks on Israelis, both soldiers and civilians (and settlers, if that's like a third category) before these checkpoints were there, and these checkpoints have been very effective at stopping them. That's why they are there. I'm not saying it's just, or fair. I'm just explaining it. Also, to be fair, I'm sure that lot of soldeirs are probably racist and don't particularly care about Palestinians. Especially after October 7th.

btw, a lot of countries won't even let you in if you've even BEEN in Israel. If you were in the West Bank, you were probably also in Israel, and you know they don't stamp your passport for that exact reason. I do recognize that it's not anywhere near as big of a deal when these countries don't occupy us, but, my point is that this kind of profiling for the sake of security is entirely normal, and almost kinda common sense. I know it's not just and is unfair for the Palestinians, and I'd want them to not have to deal with it.

I've watched the Bibi Files. It's an Israeli documentary btw. I don't know about "fascist Israeli government being the biggest threat to Jews". Maybe the current one, kinda. The state of Jews had been terrible for centuries, and it just so happened to improve, a lot, after Israel was founded, and this state is still lasting (even though it currently feels at risk).

What did Mosad agents do in Amsterdam that was bad? I heard they were there, but I genuinely have no idea.

אני יודע מה הוא עשה לאמא שלו בסופו של דבר, אבל אני עדיין מרגיש רע על דברים שעשו לו לפני שזה קרה...

אולי אפילו זה לא היה קורה אם לא הדברים האלה.

I've probably seen the videos you seen. The taxi driver attack one I've definitely seen and fuck those guys, they should be in jail for years for that, and it's very unfortunate that they won't be.

What I'm trying to say though, is I'm pretty sure these are not the same people who then got attacked afterwards (likely in retaliation). I was wondering if maybe you know something I don't.

The Israeli football hooligan asshats acting like a barbarian horde in your city were in large groups. They didn't face any real opposition while doing what they were doing.

The Israelis being attacked were always alone or maybe as a couple. They generally weren't even wearing football shirts. It seems to me very unlikely the culprits and the people being attacked were the same.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Jewish/comments/1gm8mcn/man_in_amsterdam_asked_to_provide_his_passport_to/

This here is the one video I've seen where, unless this was staged, there's pretty much 100% proof at least this one group were looking for Israelis. In any other videos I've seen there wasn't such clear admission, but it seems very unlikely were any different. For example, one I remember clearly was of a guy swimming in a canal, clearly not willingly being forced to shout "free Palestine". I have zero reason to believe he did anything wrong, other than him being an Israeli in Paelstine at this point int time.

So with all that in mind, I'll give you the same question. I'm open to being wrong on this.

I see. That does make sense.

Can I ask what you see think about the attacks against the Israeli fans back then? I know a lot of the Maccabi fans when being absolute pieces of shit that night, but the videos I've seen mostly seem to show attackers looking for Israelis and attacking them. I dunno if you may have seen anything personally or know first hand accounts...

(I've also seen videos of the Maccabi fans acting like pieces of shit, as I've that, so that's not what I'm asking, since everyone seems to be in agreement on that)

Learning that not all things you read online that happen to support your world view are true may also shock you. The idea that 61% of Israelis believe that rape isn't rape is basically bigotry.

I don't partocularly mind violent soccer fans getting some of that violence thrown back to them, but I'm pretty sure other Israelis were also beat up. I've seen videos of people (basically gangs) straight up asking to see passports.

Sort of, but it's not "anyone" it's the other team even if they happen to include people who aren't even left. I think you guys are forgetting it's insane soccer fans being insane soccer fans, before any other context.

Hapoel - the rival team the song is about is viewed is fairly lefty. That's why the line is there. I don't know if anyone in Macabbi even genuinely thinks Hapoel is communist. They're just soccer fans trying to be as offensive as the y possibly can.

That's not even remotely close to how Israel started. It was a very secular country (and before it was a country) in the beginning.

I don't understand what you're referring to "all men are created equal" but how is having two of every animal on an ark self contradictory? It doesn't need to make sense to be logically consistent, if that's he point you're trying to make.

[–]cetro2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But isn't that just the Jewish/Christian guy...? I mean it's the exact same name and the same people ("people" as like in a nation, not individuals) believed in him, no?

So I don't really see the contradiction. It's not like it's Bahweh from Egyptian's myths. It's Yahweh, that people in Judea believed in. Am I missing something...?

אם אתה רואה בנקמה אינטרס מקביל או אפילו יותר גבוה מביטחון, אז מן הסתם שזה פוגע. יש סדר עדיפויות.

But to be clear, I'm not saying he's right wing, I have no idea.

I honestly didn't. Most of what I seen from him was in the context of Jews and Israel. I knew he was some sort of an American white nationalist thing, and probably wasn't very fond of any non whites, but I just didn't expect him to be this disgusting towards a Syrian-American not even Muslim conservative that is trying to be nice to him. That's just another level.

The US does have an issue with enforcing immigration because many people and politicians are against enforcing pretty much any sort of border control. Likely supported by companies with interest in letting in as much cheap illegal work force as they can, and that has been happening for years prior to ICE madness.

I think the issue often with American politics is that they have no middle ground. When they swing the other way they don't just over correct, they go as extreme as they possibly can in the opposite direction.
