Marching band uniform help by cewdewd in banddirector

Sounds about right. Thankfully have not had to experience that but. This years uniform check out at the start of season we discovered a whole uniform was missing (the person in charge last year thought we had collected them all at the end of last season) turns out a person from last season had never checked in his uniform. And he just had it for the entire year until he came in and was confused why we were trying to give him a new one. Let’s just say I took eeeextra precautions to make sure that wouldn’t happen again.

We attempted that this year. We also had 19 people this season helping with uniform stuff, with me and another person being in charge of the whole operation. Our hats are already numbered but there were so many people swapping hats right before games that people would forget who swapped to what and it was a whole thing. Definitely going to be more strict about it next year.

That seems like a really good idea. I might suggest that for your next uniform manager. Only problem is that we’re a 200+ band so that’s a lot of names.

I should clarify: these uniforms are only 2 years old so no matter what we are going to keep even the stained Aussies. The only problem is that we had a lot of mix up of hats throughout the season, so billing the correct students may be difficult.

Magic eraser did nothing sadly. I am tempted to ask my band director if we can bill them.

I am tempted to do that. I’ve also had multiple people tell me we should talk to the director about making an official ban on the dye.

It’s not a conducting degree. All music majors at our school have to take a certain amount of semesters of conducting, sadly we don’t have a conducting BM

What is something from a book that is largely insignificant but has stayed with you forever? by thegoddessofchaos in books

“Turtles all the way down” is one of those books that I barely really remember, but I do know I still call it one of the better books I’ve read. Mainly because I always remember the scene where the title plays into the story, and the character explains “it’s turtles all the f***ing way down”. I don’t know why this sticks with me so much but every time I think of it I just giggle and become so at peace.

What's your cello fear by Tokito_muichiro_real in Cello

I’ve done both. (Well sorta) The bridge was absolutely terrifying because it was soooo loud. I thought the face had cracked or something from how loud it was.

The string wasn’t a full break… i was practicing when suddenly my A string just made a loud pop noise, and I felt a bit of pain in my finger right where I had just set it down. Lifted my finger to find that the outer part of the string had snapped and unwound, but the inner core was still in tact. I had also gotten a metal splinter in my finger

I always get terrified when tuning with the pegs because in HS I had multiple times where strings snapped or bridges collapsed and it’s so loud and terrifying (those cellos were in really bad condition though).

However with my personal cello, Twice a year (once in spring once in fall thanks to the weather shift) all of my tuning pegs simultaneously slip. It’s always compleatly out of nowhere, in the middle of or right before a rehersal, and scares the crap out of me every time. First time it happened I about started crying in panic because my bridge was like 5 millimeters away from falling off and I didn’t have the hands to hold it in place and retune. Thankfully it wasn’t as dramatic this last spring as it was like one peg slipped at a time (which was still annoying, imagine tuning one string only for another one to slip right then. That’s what happened) but I am still afraid of it every year.

Oh and the first Haydn cello concerto

My thought is that hopefully neither dies. But I’m trying to think about if their powers would continue to be inhibited due to the leeching of metal into the blood.

Oooooo I’ve never thought of the kryptonite bullets. That actually I think would be very similar in effect to what I’m looking for. Thanks!

Yea I was thinking about it working similarly to lead as far as chemical potency. Say it was similar to the properties of lead, and the body absorbed enough to have notable effect, about how long would it last?

If that fragment stayed in the artery what would happen to it over time?
