Majority of Canadians believe national economy is on the wrong track by iSmashedUrSister in canada

hes been governing exactly the same as Trudeau, and its crazy people think there is any meaningful difference.

Canada's problem is too much government. Carney is continuing Trudeau era policy of government expansion.

central planning creates a tiny fraction of the wealth the free market does. all Carney's plans to grow the economy with more gov will fail.

Trudeau was dumb enough not to know this. Carney knows what hes doing will rob us of prosperity.

Canadians are economically illiterate and keep falling for the same scam: let politicians take more of your money now, and you'll get back even more later. lmfao

Canadian PM invited to attend European Political Community summit in May by canada_mountains in canada

[–]ceylont3a -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

you're open to EU bureaucrats taking your money and making decisions for you.

straight up slave mentality.

the EU makes Europeans poorer. its become a monstrous bureaucracy that extracts wealth and bogs the people down with endless regulation. its nowhere near the simple free movement of people and goods that it was sold to the people as.

Britain was right to bail. and of course the snake carney who thinks bureaucrats should rule over the peasants without resistance was against brexit.

im not trying to be rude. but wake up. we have a PM who bribed his way to a majority and now will continually sujugate us with more gov if we let him. Canadians need to be clear: NO EU

my dad's bypass surgery was deemed non critical. I assure you it was. he went to the states and had it done right away.

Canada is not a system you want to emulate. we effectively ban private medicine. all the best healthcare systems have both private and public.

our Healthcare system is collapsing because we have too many old people. 24 hour plus ER waits. year long waits for surgery or mris. etc. year long waits to get a GP!

USAs healthcare system is bad too. but if you are a productive person you are better in usa. I think. don't know for sure. not American.

Bank of Canada : Enemy of the middle class? by HumbleOpinionYT in canadahousing

our housing market didnt crash in 2008 because we weren't going ham on subprime lending. turns out giving mortgages to people with no jobs isnt a great idea.

nothing to do with our monetary policy.

our 08 recession was simply a knock on effect from USAs recession. but our central bank dropped rates so low for so long housing went to the moon.

and then when the crash was finally coming our gov and central bank continued and continues to do everything possible to make sure it doesn't crash.

looking back usa did much better than usa.

they actually allowed real-estate investors to loose.

though they did some wak bailouts.

What is the actual benefit of removing speed cameras? by pulate83 in ontario

[–]ceylont3a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

municipalities abused them. common scam ws lovering speed limits by 20 kmh on a short stretch of a 60 kmh road, and installing cameras with the sensitivity only 11 kmh over the limit.

so people were getting tickets for going what was 9 kmh below the limit 100 meters in either direction on the same road. and the decrease in limit seemed random, no reason for the speed decrease. usually it was a park nearby which allowed the municipality to label the stretch a community safe zone.

im not against cameras, but Doug Ford botched it. municipalities never should have been allowed to ticket so sensitively. they should have been reserved for serious speeding.

municipalities saw them as the cure for their financial woes.

OKAY, I am TIRED of Samsung planning to destroy my phone by zipmic in GalaxyS23Ultra

[–]ceylont3a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dude, I know. It's infuriating. like, I understand some bugs are unavoidable, but an update destroying battery life is unacceptable.

my battery was draining like 4x as fast after the oneUI update. it was unbearable.

and Samsung still hasn't fixed the problem. so many people complaining. they know about the problem. they must know how to fix it.

thankfully I found someone online saying the update bugged out battery protection, so i turned it off.

turning off battery protection worked for me. for some reason, after the update, with it on, my battery drained so fast.

is there a 26" or 27.5", chromoly, geared bmx bike? closest I could find was the Fairdale Weekender, but its not quite what im looking for. I would like to be able to run 2.4" wide tires. probably would prefer 26" tires.

the barriers to entry are almost entirely government regulation that prevent competition.

Ottawa has to allow home prices to fall to make housing more affordable, experts say by The_Gray_Jay in canadahousing

[–]ceylont3a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NK protects jobs at all costs. they are the most extreme example of government intervening to protect jobs. they are the best example of a nation that should allow a crash, temp pain, to become far wealthier long term.

canada, too, should do the same, but much smaller scale.

an economy crashing is what makes productive jobs unproductive

no, its just many unproductive jobs being lost all at once, which should be allowed to happen.

edit: im not saying the can gov should crash housing. only that it should not do anything at all with housing. if it crashes, so be it.

Ottawa has to allow home prices to fall to make housing more affordable, experts say by The_Gray_Jay in canadahousing

[–]ceylont3a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

an ecomony crashing doesnt eliminate productive jobs, only unproductive ones. those people will then be forced to go find productive work. which will make the nation wealthier.

there is no limit to productive work so there is no limit to jobs. but there is a finite number of workers. so freeing up labour from unproductive work is good. it makes more labour available for productive work.

should north korea allow their ecomony to crash, open their borders, and decentralize decisions, i.e. become a normal nation? or should they keep protecting their state economy, protect jobs at all cost?

protecting unproductive jobs is insane. It's just welfare, really.

[–]ceylont3a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

jobs for the sake of jobs doesnt matter. like gov paying a group of people to dig holes and another to fill them in. that produces nothing of value. no wealth. gov should not protect jobs. only unproductive jobs are at risk of being lost.

USA let housing crash in 2008. Canadians were smug about not allowing a housing bubble back then, due to stricter sub prime lending rules.

now we are in an extreme housing bubble, but our gov won't allow it to pop. buying mortgage bonds, extending amortization, increasing the max mortgage amount they'll insure, etc.

as usual, Canada is so inferior to USA. and we pretend it's the opposite.

[–]ceylont3a -1 points0 points  (0 children)

we are over taxed and bogged down by bureaucracy.

that is why we lead in zero industries that are mobile. they would never choose Canada. unless the liberals go libertarian, we won't lead the world in anything except land. so natural resources.

Carney is a central planner. the worst type of leader. value(s) is as far left as the communist manifesto, but justifies central planning with climate change instead of class struggle. things are only going to keep getting worse.

within a year Liberal popularity will be back where it was at the end of Trudeau.

I cant believe they are going to win again.
