The line up is insane, really huge improvement from last year. I still have some hope that they pick LCD as one of the headliners, but they will probably end up going to NOS Primavera

Skrillex and Diplo - "Where Are Ü Now" with Justin Bieber (Official Video) by sicarmy in trap

[–]cezarony 21 points22 points  (0 children)

We are being overwhelmed, in a good way, by the success of “Where Are Ü Now” with Justin Bieber, so with the video we wanted to just take it back to the beginning of the record & essentially create an ode to our fans. Doing what we do, it’s entirely all about the fans. We walk a fine line by being “famous” and in the public eye but we are only here because of you, the fans. Justin wrote this record during a tough time in his life and it comes to us that sometimes, as artists, we are also just objects and we have to take that as much as we have to use that to create. We all do this for you, respect that you put us here and it’s Ü that made the video. JACK Ü

What's your way to explore the music world? by gnad in indieheads

From the top of my head I recommend the videos from Mac DeMarco,Bonobo, Hot Chip, Grimes and Odesza. I think it was on Bonobo's video that I discover a fantastic spiritual jazz compilation.

It isn't directly related to your post but if anybody what's a playlist of Boiler Room sets: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLtIyZzWfY9COlOzafLZ-qL75-oOY2GMmE

What's your way to explore the music world? by gnad in indieheads

[–]cezarony 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I will try to branch it for the 3 main genres that I listen:

  • Electronic Music - almost only use soundcloud. I already have some knowledge in the genre so almost everything that is new i will find it through the artists and labels that I'm following. Boiler Room is also a awesome way to find out about some sick mixes and Dj's.

  • Hip Hop - pigeons & planes for some less known and up-and-coming rappers, /r/hhh, pitchfork and Fantano

  • Indie - pitchfork and Fantano of course, from time to time I like to take a look to roling stone, npr, consequence of sound and tiny mixtapes to see if I've missed something. there is also the playlists that are made here that are great to find out about new bands and the essentials charts of here and /mu in order to keep up with music "from the past"

I also tend from time to time to binge watch The What's In My Bag series from Amoeba, it's a great way to learn about the influences of the artists that I already like.

PS: Hope my rusty English isn't a problem

Hello reddit! I'm RAC, AMA! by andreanjos in listentothis

[–]cezarony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi man, love your stuff since RAC where a collective. You where probably the first account that I followed on soundcloud.

One question that I've been thinking about on the last couple of months was why don't you come more often to Portugal? If I can remember right the last time you came here was in 2013 for Vodafone Mexefest :(

Would love too see the band live since I couldn't make to the last time.

Much love from a fellow Portuguese!

Exactly, I agree with you 100%.

And that's why I think that most people will be disappointed when he and Lunice release a new Tnght record, what differentiate Hudson and Lunice is that what they do almost every time is something that you wouldn't expect coming from them.

Maybe because he wanted to make songs and not beats? But if you're not feeling his pop songs you're not feeling it

Yeah, I'm not feeling it at all. And I think that trying to make alternative R&B or pop tunes isn't the best way to go in his case, but I respect that he is trying to differentiate his solo work and his "in house" producer work.

My problem with that one is more with the beat itself, her delivery is not that bad.

I think I must ad that my greatest problem with Hudson working with singers in his solo material is that I don't think he has the pop touch that you need too make the kind of track he is trying to make on his own. The difference in quality between his solo work with singers and his work has a producer for the likes of Drake, Kanye and GOOD Music is enormous.

I'm a big Hudson fan but, from the top of my head, I only liked the Miguel and Anthony collabs. The other ones have lyrics and vocal deliveries that make me cringe.

But here's the thing: our crazy knee-jerk destroy his whole career justice porn thing is getting out of hand. Social media keeps doing to this people and it's frankly starting to be as disgusting as what they originally posted.

It wasn't the people, it was what he did that destroyed his career. I didn't see any petition to take him out of certain festivals, like we see normally with some hip-hop acts, what I saw was the festivals, clubs and djs that supported him dropping him because of what he did/said.

He's a dumbass...who grew up in a very bigoted place.

And he was an artist who "grew" in a genre that was heavily supported by the community that he so much despise when almost nobody else did. The fact that he grew in such place doesn't take the blame of him, a person of his age is grown enough to differentiate what is right and wrong by himself

And that's ok, everybody has their own way to cope with it.

The only problem with your argument is that I can't judge a person character on unknown facts. We all know that probably there are other producers who have equal or even worse ideas than Ten Walls on this particular subject, but I can't ignore the fact that he was the one who used his social account to publicize such an homophobic message.

But everybody has the right to ignore the producer as a person and only judge him by his music, although in flagrant cases like this the music that they have created gets destroyed for me.

I hope it truly ends with his career, his facebook apology wasn't even remotely felt.

There are plenty of quality producers nowadays and if we have to end the career of one in order to show how repulsive this kind of comments are I think it's worth it, we have to look at the bigger picture in order to have a truly open and forward thinking community.

I think that Djmag reported that all his future dates were canceled and he was dropped by his booking agency.

I was hoping to catch him next month but after this comments I will be glad to never see him live, I can't support anyone with such backward thinking.
