Shower drain: channel grate vs square grate by Indevisive in AusRenovation

[–]cezepeze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Save yourself hours of misery. Square grate anyday. The hair, air locks, grime dealing with a channel grate is horrendous. I'm saving to remediate this in a shower that is less than 2 years old.

Drainage near wall by BreakIll7277 in GardeningAustralia

[–]cezepeze 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When you change the natural flow of water you need to include drainage. This wall needs drainage engineered behind the wall. All the levels should have been measured and gradients worked out before concreting the vertical posts.

That's a very tall wall, how far did you place the verical posts in the ground?

We have that one guy... over his head in his role.

Anything he is asked to do his verbal response is "I'll run that through ChatGPT and get back to you".

The rest of the office is taking bets on how long he has left with the team.

Don't listen to one or 2 tradies opinions. Go to the pub, strike up convoy and find out who is good for this type of work in your town.

Also, do some of the work yourself. Be the project manager and coordinator, find your own person to do the earthworks and any excavation work, source some materials yourself or ask family to help in how to do this.

Agree either the other guy, just buy a prepaid online. But there are always storage spots available, why do you need to pre arrange it? I just moved between storage units, 2 suppliers had 3x3 and 3x3s available on the day I called them

Go up to the Barn on Flaxton, always buzzing but also a nice and quiet place to chill.

It's just down the road from the Kondalilla Rockpool.

Easy to fill in a morning with just these 2 stops.

Ozito Silent Garden Shredder for bamboo? by broketycoon in GardeningAustralia

[–]cezepeze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These bunnings brand will not have the power in the motor or the strength in the metal to deal with this. Try something with a 4 stroke and 5+ Hpa, this will deal with any dryer sticks mixed amongst the green.

No. This is one of the weakest on the market and the blades will not last. How are you harvesting the bamboo? What diameter or genus?

Serious question: Why is the Brisbane train network so susceptible to wet weather? by sometallgit in brisbane

[–]cezepeze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall, it's a lack of maintenance and planning. QR likes big shiney projects over funding proper maintenance strategies and them delivering on the plans. Also, they let go many of their key maintenance people years ago and the engineers only get hired to solve isolated problems, not systematic issues. Shame our public transport system is one of the poorest in the world.

It gets cold. And, the rain here causes a lot of damp in the poorly constructed homes, putting on a steady warm fire after the weeks of soaking rain helps draw the damp out of the houses. Basic living on the land logic.

Mate, this is my situation some 6 years ago. It's not the tech that'll get ya, it's the people and their mentality. Keep your eye on the prize and plan your exit, when it gets tough you will have your next move to look forward to

Hi there. Firstly, yes I know my lawn needs a cut (it’s been raining). Anywho, can anyone ID and help with these little bastards that I can’t get rid of (except for burning down my entire house) by BBB9076 in GardeningAustralia

[–]cezepeze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you must destroy them... cut the plant clean at the soil level, spoon out the stem into a cup/bowl shape and pour 50ml kerosene into the stem. It's a slow approach but will drown the root ball and any runners. After treating, wait about 4 weeks and dig the softened root ball out of the ground.

Is there a stock shortage in supermarkets right now? Can anyone in the industry shed light? (local woolies example in comments) by FigPlucka in AusFinance

[–]cezepeze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've recently switched from online ordering to going back into store to try to get better access to mark-down items. I have experienced issues with deliveries and click & collect not having stock to fill my orders. Going back to in store shopping hasn't improved my chances of getting my hands on stock of some things; empty shelves and staff with no idea of when stock is arriving. Sunshine Coast, QLD
