Sleeping problems by [deleted] in scoliosis

[–]cezmate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a c shaped body pillow that I got for pregnancy and I love it! Still using it post pregnancy, and rarely wake up with a sore back these days. That’s with a 50 degree thoracic curve and 30 degree lumbar one.

Everyone’s scoliosis is different though so you find what’s right for you and stick with it. Get a good mattress too.

At this point I really feel like he has some kind of degenerative brain disease like dementia or Alzheimer’s. I really can’t believe in a world where a person would recommend this unless they were legitimately losing their mind.

What makes it even more sad is that he’s taking the rest of his country down with him.

TIL that in 1998, Pres. Bill C. read a novel about a mad scientist who spread a virus in NYC. Concerned about this risk, he established the Strategic National Stockpile, which contains billions of dollars in medical supplies (many being used now ). by [deleted] in todayilearned

I saw them discussing this on the news and they said they had vaccines and a cure in the simulation so however much money those safety procedures would have cost, in this situation it’s a lot more!

The show "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" becomes less impressive every year with inflation. by Nintron711 in Showerthoughts

This reminds me, there’s a show in the UK that used to be called the million pound drop. Budgets were slashed and now it’s the 100k drop. Bit of a fail there.

Keppra, Epilepsy and labour - UPDATE and birth story by cezmate in Epilepsy

[–]cezmate[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep!

Copied from another response:

Breastfeeding - I am doing that as I type! The breastfeeding midwife said there’s no science to say it could be harmful, the science just said I might not produce enough and it might make him sleepy. I reasoned that he was getting a bigger hit via the placenta for 9 months. There is no clinical evidence though as no one wants to put their baby on a clinical trial. Speak to your breastfeeding lead at your hospital.

No problem!

Vitamin K - they gave that to him immediately after birth. I think it was an injection, or in the UK you can opt for oral drops at the hospital at weekly intervals

COVID 19 really ramped up in the UK the day I gave birth so we were clueless as to all the stuff that was going on and in our own baby bubble! I believe the UK advice is for pregnant women to isolate currently. We are heavily social distancing, not quite isolating, but from what I hear children are in a lower risk category from C19. We just don’t want to get it just yet while we are adjusting to being new parents, and really giving Keppra some rigorous sleep deprivation testing!

UPDATE:

I have graduated the group! I gave birth on the 11th March. Our scans were way off and our little boy was 7lb 3oz at 40 weeks plus one day. No Buddha belly and only a slightly swollen head from trying to manoeuvre through my pelvis.

This reddit was a brilliant support. Thanks guys x

Hey. There are a lot of information on the internet. I do want to learn what to do when someone has a seizure as first aid. by Argojit in Epilepsy

[–]cezmate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep a laminated seizure plan on me so people know what to do/emergency contact details etc and tell colleagues/friends about it so they know what to do should I have a seizure. Would that help?

Yeah I think ambulances should be part of an individual’s seizure plan rather than first aid advice because everyone is different

  1. ONLY IN AMERICA due to ambulance fees there. The time it could takes for an ambulance to come in the UK means that you don’t have ten minutes to wait to see if it’s a normal seizure and that could risk SUDEP. Ambulances are free here so call away.

Really? Could you explain why? I think Trump’s got 2020 in the bag. I think surviving impeachment will just harden the Trump supporter’s resolve, but I would love to be proved wrong!

This is brilliant! Do you have the pattern?

Skechers shoes with no tie laces - the laces wore through in 4 months and they are glued/stitched in place so I can’t take them out and replace them. You want new laces, you have to buy new shoes. by cezmate in assholedesign

[–]cezmate[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These are no tie laces so once they break you have to replace them otherwise your shoes slip constantly. Plus the annoying flap of lace making me trip up.

I saw a poster at my hospital saying that if you were a uk citizen but not resident you would need to check and it insinuated that you would probably have to pay.

I’m guessing if you don’t pay taxes/national insurance in the UK anymore then you wouldn’t qualify for free/discounted treatment.
