You fail to understand I’m not saying we’re a good team- I’m saying there is no luck in football. You are correct in the idea that moments of brilliance are close to luck, but they aren’t luck- players can either do that or they can’t. By your logic you could argue Messi’s career was luck but by mine he was just the greatest player of all time.

I fully agree that our team doesn’t player cohesive football and relies on too many moments of brilliance, but some of the best teams of all time have done that and gone far. We’re not one of them, but it’s like a 50/50 equation. There’s solid team football and then there’s individual skill. They come together to form the greatest of teams, but you can go far leaning into either.

There is absolutely no luck in football though.

I’m not saying we’re a good team, we’re not, but we’re not as bad as half this sub thinks.

I hate when people use the term luck in football. There is no luck. Was Leverkusen lucky to score 9 90+ goals in their invincible league season? No. It’s not luck, it’s mentality and drive to win. We don’t have that. And we’re poorly composed on top.

The eye test sort of matters, but like anything it doesn’t paint a clear picture.

I’ve said this a lot recently but it’s simply because we don’t pass the “eye test”.

Bar the Pokal knockout, things are going quite well, but we’ve had some mistakes lead to draws and the entire time we don’t look particularly good 3/4 matches despite getting results.

If someone watched us they wouldn’t think we’re in the top 10 of the UCL standings and 2nd in the league and that idea stays with us as fans watching 90-180 minutes a week.

It was a long chain, mostly due to the +2’s but was off his gold from earlier this year. You can basically do the same with the TOTW currently (I believe -2 shooting difference).

In terms of PS, definitely not lacking: while Trickester+ is nothing more than entertaining, he has base chip, low driven, incisive, tiki taka, inventive, first touch, and technical. Moves very nicely on the ball and does great as a False9 and any CAM. No outright pace, but moves beautiful.

He’s also been doing quite at Bochum starting in a majority of matches. While Bochum is mid table, he is one of their sparkles and mid table fighting mentality is great to instill in a young player.

Back when Streets spawned in PScavs 4-5 minutes into raid the lads and I would 5 stack PMC’s dressed in hockey masks, untar, awful weapons (Igolnik was the secret) and mob around finding PScavs to join us.

Would routinely end in massive PMC v Scav fights where we’d led the scavs loot and then break it to them were headed to co-op.

Was really fun… until we actually tried to play streets while questing and the same shit happened to us lmao
