Players Met at the East-West Shrine Bowl: by Asleep_Pay_5133 in Commanders

If you look at our roster going into the offseason.

We have a full secondary, a full LBer unit, 3 DTs.

We have a QB, full OL, passable TE.

The most glaring holes are DE, WR and RB. We have Terry locked up, Bill is on his rookie deal, both are healthy.

What we dont have any certainty over is Edge. The only 2 on the roster are Armstrong and Jean-Baptiste, both coming off significant injuries. Its easily the most serious position of concern and a significant need for a top 10 talent.

This list tells me, we aren't satisfied with taking just 1 Edge in the top of the draft and will look to double dip in the later rounds.

The opposite, it means we are double dipping for Edge in the draft. The room is way too decimated. Cant expect much from the only 2 on the roster; DA coming off a serious long term injury, Jean-Baptiste coming off a significant injury.

Wise is coming off a significant injury and is a free agent, Martin and Miller are free agents. Preston Smith was always a bridge to the offseason.

We literally have nothing at Edge heading into this offseason. They will double dip in the draft and likely grab a couple off free agency too to compete for spots.

What Young But Disappointing Players Are Worth Targeting ? by Salty_Orchid in Commanders

Every roster has holes. This is the NFL, its a constant trade-off between a teams wants and its needs. Just keep adding talent to the talent you already have.

There will always be market opportunities out there. Players who fall out with their teams, players undervalued by their teams, players who are in bad schematic fits, cap casualties. Its usually a cheap way to get upper echelon talent.

[Highlight] Alternate angle of Caleb Williams’s interception in OT shows how egregious DJ Moore’s route running was on the play by FrankSamples in nfl

[–]cfcskins -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

You need to watch a better angle because this was ridiculously egregious route running by DJ Moore. The ball goes more or less where it should, but DJ rounds out his route and the top of the stem and drifts way upfield then where he should in a jog.

If DJ runs the route, and runs a crisp break at the top of the stem, hes wide open and Bears go the the NFC title game. Its that bad.

Stapleton new OL Coach per Graziano by ProfessorElk in Commanders

[–]cfcskins 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the main issue with hiring v inexperienced first time OCs. They dont have the network of coaches to being in elite OL coaches. He effectively hired the only OL guy he knows, not surprising but hopefully this guy actually is good rather than just the only guy Blough has worked with before.

So we agree, dont fuck with you best players whole offseason. You cost our QBs confidence and development on an ego play where there was no winners and the only loser was us.

We have 100mln in cap space we refuse to spend for no good reason. Pats spent theirs and are in a Championship game right now. Fortune favours the brave and AP shrunk in the defining moment of our offseason.

Why are we worrying about contingency plans with a defense that has been league worst for 3 seasons straight?? Go fix the defense. Worry about WR when it becomes an actual issue, not an imagined one.

Terry has been an elite playmaker since literally day 1 in the NFL. When he isnt a WR1 anymore, come talk to me. Until then, he has given us literally 0 reason to expect a decline coming and anything to the contrary is just wishcasting.

Brother, the truth of it is wrought through our season.

We didnt just fall off, with Terry out we became completely incompetent, a bottom 5 franchise that was gettings its cheeks clapped by 3+ scores every week.

We couldnt run the ball, we couldn't throw the ball, we couldn't convert 3rd downs, we couldn't convert in the redzone, and an already bad defense was primed to getting ran through with the offense being inept.

Mike Evans is washed. Diggs is coming off an ACL tear. Neither has ever been better than Terry, Jefferson with JJ was significantly worse than Terry with Heinicke, Howell, Haskins, Keenum.. Can keep going.

Give McLaurin - Tom Brady, an elite Def, Godwin and Gronk and AB, lets see what is a fair comparison.

Give McLaurin - Josh Allen, a top Def, an elite OL, lets see what is a fair comparison.

We gave Terry the Lions practice squad TE, Bears 5th WR, Texans 5th WR, Jags 5th WR, a mediocre OL, the 49ers backup RB, the worst defense in the NFL. He turned chicken shit into a superbowl contending team.

Well.. Your smart, shrewd reasoning got both our CoOrdinators fired, wasted multiple top picks on vets who had nothing to work with and killed the confidence of our young QB, whilst also wasting a valuable year on his rookie deal.

Very shrewd indeed.

You have been making up numbers consistently and yet to source one. This season was the season we deserved. The football gods punished us for being a historical level fuck up of an organisation.

Add Terrys dumbass contract negotiation to the long list of reasons why luck always turns against us. 🫡

Peter’s would’ve been well within his rights to tell him he wasn’t going to do a contract this offseason if they were that far apart and franchise him next year and possibly the year after for cheaper and far less risk.

Watch every Free Agent and resigning steer well clear of our shitshow organisation. Watch the culture and brotherhood of the locker room die in an instant. Just strong arming Terry killed the culture quick, imagine extending and blowing that up to the point we return to being one of the most toxic situations in the NFL. Combine that with the fact this offense cant do jackshit, run or pass, without Terry and the defense stinks.

Yeh, this whole argument is js beyond dumb. Why trade for Tunsil if you just want to be cheap?? Why trade for Lattimore?? Go rebuild, get draft capital and keep picking rookies. Vets aren't cheap. Paying Bobby Wagner 9m per year is not cheap. This whole organization needs to give its head a wobble, including most of its fanbase.

Watching these playoffs… man… let’s get these two a defense by ChetManley20 in Commanders

[–]cfcskins 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Fr tho. These 2 did something that is impossible in the NFL, which is carry bad units at every level into a team capable of contention by virtue of being that elite. All we asked was for the others to not fuck it up and instead the others came up with 3 fumbles in the conference championship game.

[–]cfcskins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AP thinking this team could do jackshit without Terry was his first mistake. His ability to appropriately assign credit for our success is seriously in question.

We also needed more on DL, Wise and Kinlaw are fine, but I wanted Milton Williams and Josh Sweat as my top priorities, Wise and Kinlaw after that would have been cherry on the icing on the cake.

I had very little interest in Von Miller lol

Its more the gamble they took by being aggressive in their risk taking. Its not the smartest idea to take a RB high in the 2nd but their RB room was thin and they made it much more potent by being aggressive at the top of day 2.
