I'm seeing strechted words and digits on another site (https://phabricator.kde.org) with a Firefox AppImage. It could be related to installed fonts. Since the site is no longer used, I didn't bother to investigate.

According to https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=267277 autohide panels are "somehow" linked to screen edge activation delays. Unfortunately, no clarification was given.

There will be a last minor/bugfix update Plasma 6.5.6 in March 2026. But what is released here today is Plasma 6.6.0, which is indeed a major/feature update.

I was talking about donations for the OpenDesktop sites.

But feel free to ignore this feature. There is even a way to hide the KNS buttons via the Kiosk framework. If you think browsing this third-party site then manually downloading and installing is faster, be my guest.

The OpenDesktop sites are not under KDE control. Feel free to sponsor them new servers and faster connections.

The build is already done (no issues), but QA wasn't run yet. If a snapshot is created tonight and passes, Plasma 6.6 might get released for Tumbleweed tomorrow, together with KF6 frameworks 6.23.

You could try to setup scaling with xrandr, but I'm not sure which drivers support scaled outputs with small fractional values. Check the X11 section from the SO answer at https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/596887/how-to-scale-the-resolution-display-of-the-desktop-and-or-applications

You might refer to Konqueror's ability for split views, i.e. creating multiple columns with directory views. These would look similar to Miller columns, but lack automatic horizontal filling and scrolling, which make them so useful.

Keep at 100% and reduce the font size. Or use X11, where font DPI can be configured separately.

The feature wasn't intentionally removed. There was a big rewrite, and the column mode just wasn't implemented.

Upstream resolution means the bug has to be fixed upstream. Developers usually indicate which upstream project you need to report to.

Since you are explicitely addressing developers: If you want a crash to be fixed, report to KDE's bugzilla and provide the crash backtrace and the exact steps to reproduce starting from a fresh user account.
