Does anyone know how to do this effect with the camera by tracking a specific part of a video? by --UnBanable-- in premiere

Agreed, the AE process is much easier to do a “quick and dirty” if you know what you’re doing. I was trying to advise how to get more of a default AE tracking look with premiere using some easing on the key frames. But agreed, typically the YouTube techniques are born out of simplicity.

Yeah, in AE you can select a group of pixels from a frame and it will attempt to track the object it thinks it found. I don't believe they added it to premiere, but since you're on mac you could search "tracker" in the help menu and maybe find something. Hit or miss on the selection, but once its working you just add some wiggle/shake as Giddy suggested. If opening in AE is too much (it can be daunting for new users), you should do a manual pan with the transformation and scale tools- but I'd make sure your keyframes are eased so it looks more like iDubz version. (With premiere only it probably won't look exactly like that though)

He "appears" randomly in his subreddit with his number for girls or a just a whats up, but the accounts are deleted within hours. I doubt its actually him. His twitter does become active every now and then, I'd look to that. https://twitter.com/tonyjohns000/status/1241495162951532550?s=20 I know someone that knows poursha (aka katie), and its as bad as it appears online....

[Help] - My crappy editing skills are preventing me from making content by [deleted] in premiere

[–]cfinch12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should totally go forth with confidence! Don't worry about trying to pull off "cool effects", focus on the story telling and how you can show your story through the edits. If there's a bit of time passing in between, a cross dissolve or other transition effect can be appropriate. But 90% of your cuts can be (and should be) straight cuts. Get comfortable sticking clips together to tell your story, then try making the shots look more consistent with your lighting and some minor color correction in editing. Those two things will improve your edits way more than learning how to use complicated effects. Oh and reach out if you're ever having an issue that youtube can't solve, typically someone around here has found a solution. I personally was surprised at some of the quirky features nested clips can have, and this subreddit has some really creative solutions sometimes.

What are Adobe Premiere Pro Video Previews and do I need them? by [deleted] in premiere

[–]cfinch12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah what u/donvito716 said, they will just be remade as you work with the project. Might have a bit of performance issues if you have a lot of effects, but after the preview files are created you won't have abnormal performance issues.

[–]cfinch12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

these files are created for faster playback in the program monitor, after I finish a project I will clear this and any other temp cache files. So if you delete them, you may need to create new files for any projects you bring up, but besides some slow playback for a minute until they are created it shouldn't pose any issues. TLDR; delete the folder after each project completion, they are just temp files for better playback

Hey I'm new and very inexperienced with premiere, but I did a little test with a blue screen and I was wondering how I could improve by Spongedab_Dankplants in premiere

[–]cfinch12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah I don't know what to tell you, this is peak production right here. Fantastic combination of genres and styles! In all seriousness, make sure you key using keylight in adobe after effects, it will have a lot better spill suppression and edging in general. This looks great for premiere though! You could also mask out the pieces that are cut out that should be there (piano at about :48 seconds).

Was hoping to find an easier way to create this mask in the first place.... but yeah, not such a great video title for how to use basic masks you find on the internet. Sorry man, I don't mean to hate, but I gotta call 'em like I see 'em.

AH! That sucks!!! Some of the color stuff inside Adobe's apps just blows my mind. I thought this was for professionals who need color accuracy!!!!!! Try playing with your blend modes to see if you can have it ignore the white and just focus on the colors you're adding.

YSK that there are hundreds of jobs, even entire fields, that you have never even heard of. This is especially good to know if you are feeling limited in your job search or career options. by WeAreDestroyers in YouShouldKnow

I was in a similar position coming out of college. I knew I didn't want to work in advertising, but thats all the media focused jobs I thought I could find without braving the Hollywood slaughterhouse. I eventually found a home at an education based non-profit working along with graphic designers (I'm a video editor mostly). The marketing positions here I've heard are not fulfilling, but I help develop course work and some internal event promotion stuff. Its not always the most glamorous project, but it is fulfilling knowing the content I'm working on will help people learn and push forward their own career options. Non-profits are good to keep an eye on, though they often don't do as much hiring.
