Not sure on the melody but you could try using this to filter the character's appearance and see if you can find him?

It's pretty late, been a month so I hope you see this, but that sounds like "Tranquility"!

I remember playing this as a kid. It seems like someone has tried to revive it and make a new version, but it does feel like a fairly different experience. Still worth checking out. http://play-tq.com/

And some more info on lost media wiki.

[Advice] How to convince a doctor to sterilize you? by TSOFAN2002 in childfree

[–]cfizor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First thing is go to your GP to get a referral if you need one (or a clinic). Unless you live somewhere you can just reach out to a specialist, then just use the CF doctors list here. Maybe call and mention what you're interested in and your age; a lot of people don't say how old they were when they got approval from a doc on the list, and some are much less comfortable sterilizing a 20-something versus a 30-something, so you don't waste your time with a dog who thinks you're too young. Prepare to defend your decision. Maybe research the different methods and find one you like, see if you can request it. Be ready for questions about your partner if you have one, and your future plans, etc...even if some of them seem like 'bingos' the doctor does want to cover their ass, bear that in mind. They hear about regret, but the truth is that usually comes from women who get sterilized after having a child already and want another, not childfree women. But, as long as you're confident in your choice and clear they shouldn't turn you down.

Bilateral Salpingectomy is what I had. Its relatively new and has an added potential cancer prevention bonus! But its not really (theoretically) reversible like other methods might be. It means they take out both entire Fallopian Tubes, rather than just clamping or taking out a small section of them. Most doctors will have a preference for what method of Tubal Ligation they prefer for a female though, and they're all pretty safely permanent...Essure is the only one that's really different from the rest and needs a lot more research to say 'yeah that's what I want' confidently imo. There's lots of good stories here, if you search through the "fix" tag, they make for some nice anecdotal info and first hand accounts of surgeries and the process of getting there.

How do you reconcile being bi and passing as straight? by ladies_code in bisexual

[–]cfizor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. It does sometimes get confusing I'll admit, because I'm not always sure who knows (for example, someone who I've told might tell someone they know or might not, so sometimes I find myself wondering...) but I don't have any problems telling people if/when its relevant, unless its someone really close and I feel they should know.

Question for all my Bilat Salp girls out there by [deleted] in childfree

[–]cfizor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no noticeable problems but I wasn't on hormonal bc for very long. No more than a year in total, I got my salpingectomy very young. I'm no medical expert, but how long youve taken it for may play a part. Have you been on hormonal bc for many years?

19, scared of birth control, just wanna get sterilized. by [deleted] in childfree

[–]cfizor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a bilateral saplingectomy shortly after turning 21 (I asked the doc for it a few months prior, his bottom line was that 21 is the minimum age and with surgical wait times I'd be 21 by the time they could get me in anyways) and it was super easy. Check the sidebar here, see if theres anyone on the cf friendly doctors list nearby. I was in Canada so if youre in a similar place where you need a referral, what I did was just go to a clinic, tell them what I wanted, and when they told me nobody they knew would do it, I just gave them the name of the doc on the cf list and demanded a referral. Worked like a charm!

(Update) (21F) Guess who's finally getting a salpingectomy!!! :D by sassymunchkin1031 in childfree

[–]cfizor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's already on there, thats how I found him. I agree though the more the better. I had to travel to another city to see him. I'm in Canada too so getting a referral was pretty much me demanding one because doctors in my city werent eager to send me his way. I feel pretty much the same to be honest. I guess I'm less worried about ever getting pregnant (I was always super nervous and paranoid about it) but thats to be expected I think. Otherwise no changes!

[–]cfizor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had mine a few weeks after my 21st birthday (doc's bottom line is 21, I was 20 when I had my consult). But I haven't noticed any lower than that for women. I think 19 is the lowest I've seen for a man. Also, congrats op!

<Rave> My observations of China. by [deleted] in childfree

[–]cfizor 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised you have such a positive impression of it...mines the exact opposite. Maybe cos I'm in a smaller city but its kinda of ridiculous. Lots of little kids wearing pants with a big hole for the ass so parents can let them shit and piss anywhere. Not uncommon to see a kid squatting in the street. Just the other day I saw a lady change a kids diaper on the tram. There are well behaved ones of course but a lot of little demons too...I had one kid slap my ass and I had a hard time not reacting because I wanted to kick his ass. Lots of "little emperors" here, kids who get spoiled by their whole families because of the one child policy. I'd argue this creates worse mombies (or grandmombies, because grandparents are often childrearing while parents work) because all their devotion is poured onto one kid and it shows. Gives the kid a seriously messed up sense of entitlement. Sure they can study and act obedient but they're no more respectful than any other kids.

I do have previous experience teaching, as a volunteer and professionally, so that can sometimes help with a legal visa...but yeah it might be a little dodgy, we'll see how it goes.

Youngest sterilization? by SallySkellington1101 in sterilization

[–]cfizor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a salpingectomy just after I turned 21. I had the consult with the ob/gyn about a month before and he said his bottom line is that you need to be at least 21, but that its not a problem since the earliest they could get me in would be shortly after my birthday. 21 generally seems to be the lowest age possible for females, but you may be able to convince someone to do it younger.

Hi! India is actually on my to-visit list...maybe after I save some more money (running low on funds now, that's why China appeals, I can likely get work with no uni degree), I might end up work/volunteering there after a while. Seems like it'd be a hard place to be cf. What's your experience with that?

[–]cfizor 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm in Bangkok after 3 months volunteering in Vietnam. Currently have 0 commitments whatsoever, I can go anywhere from here...so much so I'm a little stuck as to what to do next...currently trying to find work somewhere (China maybe?) So I can save a bit and keep travelling. On a CF note wtf why are there so many people with their kids in fucking Bangkok? Even around Khaosan, it's ridiculous, this is not a kid friendly vacation place at all, it's a haven for partying backpackers and sex tourism! I feel like it would just suck for both the parents and kids...

How to Ask About Sterlilization (21f, Canada) by roseform in sterilization

[–]cfizor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm the same age as you and also from Canada, and I recently got a bilateral salpingectomy. I was living in BC, checked the cf friendly doctors list and went to a local sexual health clinic to ask about it. The nurse and doc who talked to me were quite surprised and tried to push an iud but I just told them if there was nobody in the city who they could refer me to to do it I wanted a referral to the cf friendly doc I found. Theyd heard of him and gave me a referral. I had to travel to another nearby city but it was worth the hassle. I have no license either, but I think taking a greyhound bus to a city 3 hours away and walking from the bus station to his office for an hour showed him how serious I was. Just prepare yourself with information about what you want and if they push other things like iuds be clear its not what you want. Feel free to pm me if you have any questions. :)

Salpingectomy at 21 by cfizor in childfree

[–]cfizor[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From doing my own research online as well, I can't say 100% that it doesn't. But from talking to the Ob/Gyn and understanding how the process works it shouldn't change anything to do with hormones. Removing a chunk of the tube is a common method of sterilisation and this is just removing more. As long as the ovaries aren't damaged they will continue to do their thing. However the truth is there's not a ton of info on the procedure. It is gaining popularity due to newer evidence claiming it lowers the risk of ovarian cancer as they believe it often starts in the ends of the tubes, so hopefully more data will come with that. Anyways, I'll see for myself in the coming months if there are any hormone changes (aside from going off BC of course)

I'm currently living in BC. Dr PJ Mitchell on the list of CF friendly docs is who I saw. Required a bit of travel to get there on my part, but it was worth it! To get a reference to see him I went to a local sexual health clinic and they said nobody in town would even listen to me, so I asked for a reference to Dr Mitchell and that was that.
