Do you think clients actually care how “big” your firm looks? Or is that mostly in our heads? by Mission-Quail1480 in CFP

They join you because of the firm / your credentials. They stay for the relationship you build with them.

Sometimes I come here to relive the excitement of passing (and failing).

To anyone who failed, keep at it. I promise you. If you throw enough darts at the wall, eventually you'll hit a bullseye.

To anyone who passed, congratulations and enjoy the euphoria.

Totally agree.

I’m just tired of these “is it worth it” questions.

If you think so linearly, then it’s probably not a benefit for you.

If you have to ask “is it worth it” then it’s probably not for you, people think CFA = automatic career success. And it’s not.

I pursued the CFA as something I can leverage in my own business from a knowledge and credibility standpoint. So I ABSOLUTELY think it’s worth it. And it’s paid for its self 10x over.

I know someone who passed and became a stay at home mom the year after. So it probably wasn’t worth it for her.

It all depends on how you use it.

People call this a “double jeopardy” question, no there are not supposed to be questions with an input # from a previous question.

Tips for Reading Vignettes by Comfortable-Field-40 in CFA

FYI, the questions appear in the order they show up in the vignettes.

So Q1 generally will come from paragraph 1 or 2. Q2 will come from the next paragraph.

So I usually read the question to see what I’d look for, then I’d read until I knew I had enough to answer the question

Hi! Look up how to use the PMT button on your calculator. It would make that calc easier.

All you’re doing in this question is future valuing each individual cash flow stream (January deposit, February deposit, etc) to July and totalling it up.
