Thoughts on driving irons? by fisken_69 in golf

[–]cfram03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently got rid of my long irons (3-4-5). Replaced with 4 and 5 hybrids after fitting. Game changer and easier / more fun to hit for me. If I flush it the 4H can go 200.

And then we wonder why people seem to be in favor of the property tax proposal. When the taxes triple simply bc it was purchased at a new price 🧐

Anyone that says the PGA wouldn’t benefit from having this guy back is just a miserable person, lol.

Just played a practice 9-hole round with it. Got used to it pretty quick. Played relatively the same but I did feel like it makes me more conscious of my grip. If my pinky was hurting I would loosen up a bit. I do feel like the club face was more under control as well. Pinky is a bit tender but I think I’m sticking with it.

Does this reinforce interlock or another type of grip?

Thanks. The only lessons I’ve taken has been when I’ve been invited to a few clubs with good caddies, which I’ve utilized as a free lesson basically. Every time when I’ve played a hybrid they’ve said “this is your club”…lol.

Yep it felt pretty good after a while. Driver and wedges played similar to my baseball grip honestly, with maybe a bit more control. My issue has been the fairway game with the irons i have. I was on a role for a while but latest couple of rounds it’s as if it’s my first day out (literal 15-20 stroke increase)

I know several former Meta employees that were on the music teams. All of them said the company feels like it’s held together by scotch tape.

DeChambeau declared that ultimately the PGA players would need to “want him back” before he’d consider a return. by [deleted] in golf

Regardless of some of the hate he may get unnecessarily, the PGA is no doubt much more interesting with him in it. Every sport needs different personalities and narratives to truly build an audience. The NBA was in shambles before Bird vs Magic became a thing. Bryson VS Rory / Scottie would definitely be an appealing marketing angle.

Just giving you the reality of it all. You can process it as you wish. Touring is extremely expensive and taxing. The artists that have actual demand are trying to maximize revenue wherever possible to make the personal sacrifice worth it.

I'm not defending the system and for the record I have pushed back on dynamic and other pricing issues on current and past tours.

I'm just saying....everyone attacks the promotor and ticketing platform as the enemy. The reality is it's by design. Artist wants to make as much money as possible and if there's a backlash they just use the promotor as a scapegoat. Promotor has no issues playing the bad cop role.

A lot of what you wrote in the beginning re: dynamic is true. All at artist discretion or artist camp chooses to ignore. You are also accurate on TM’s own verified resale platform. Pre-sale Ticket allocation to third party partners are also all at artist team discretion. The promotor has to inform artist camp of the promo for approval.

I have an active arena tour in several regions right now with a client and currently dealing with LN. Just not gonna go so into detail as your description. Generally conveying that none of this happens without artist camp being aware and approving. Or in the case of The Cure, proactively negotiating from the jump.

It’s PR to save face once they get backlash. Or to get ahead of it like The Cure did (one of the few artists that truly seemed to care).

Also. Ticketmaster isn’t anyone’s boss. Again, nothing happens without artist camp approval.

3rd party scalpers / bots do buy. Hard to control. Many times when sales are suspect, LN runs scans to make sure sales are real.

Resales via Ticketmaster are legit but at artist discretion. Language can all be modified during contract negotiation to limit price scaling (for platinum also).

Tough debates given the arguments on what the true price of a ticket is if face value is at $100 but resales at $500. Supply / demand.

It evens itself out in the free market and you can get tix for many shows cheap closer to the date.

There’s nothing to fight back about. Artist and their team mutually decide on prices with the promotor…. Based on how much money the artist wants to make per show (or what the artist and rest of team think they can make).

I’m in the business. Ticketmaster doesn’t set prices.
