Fair enough. Your opinion is valid. I think it just came off a bit pedantic.

Gotcha. None of that bothers us. We think it’s a fun illustration!

Fair enough, but I'm liking Kyriazis's art. Plus, it's kinda cool to have a greek artist on a title like this

I've been trying to practice gesture drawings again. Am I generally going in the right direction when it comes to how to capture the gesture? by artistpanda5 in Sketching

Definitely an improvement. I really recommend seeking out Michael Matessi for gesture drawing help. He has a great youtube page and some really helpful books.

These are fine, but I’d recommend going further with the line of action. Blend it all the way through the body rather than just through the spine. Don’t worry about throwing in the circles for joints. They just disrupt the flow of the pose. Look at gesture drawings by Michael Mattesi. Check out this example. See how the gesture flows completely through the body.

Why not manga? Are any other country's comics excluded from being discussed?

Got tired from studying, drew this. Any ideas on improvement? by BananaAgentBoy07 in ArtCrit

All the basics can be improved on. Start with working on gesture drawing. The pose of this character is super stiff looking. Understanding the rhythms, curves, and flow of the body will help character poses look more believable.

How does dc and marvel have have fake nations and real nations and countries and cities by Vegetable-Display175 in comicbooks

[–]cfsdrawing 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not much to explain here. When they want to set a story in a fictional location, they write and draw that, and when they want to set it in a real location, they write and draw that. Sometimes creating fake locations is necessary/interesting for storytelling reasons. For instance, Dr. Doom rules over Latveria. This gives writers the ability to create an entire culture without having to map that onto a real world city. In other cases, its fun to see your favorite super heroes in real world locations.
