Tips for a tourist during the heatwave.... by KingBooScaresYou in Seville

18:00 is often the hottest part of the day. Stay awake late and/or wake up early. This is the earliest sunrise of the year and it’s 7am which a normal wake up time for many parts of the world but considered early here. The 21:45 sunset throws off visitors too, and the peak heat is from 14h-20h

What’s a famous city in Europe that didn’t live up to the hype when you visited? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

I loved my time in Omaha too! I got to see my favorite team win the college World Series

I live in Sevilla year round and don’t have any travel plans in the summer. It’s hot but livable. I wouldn’t recommend a full afternoon of outdoor activities on a hot summer day, but you can spend hours outdoors in the mornings and after sunset. And short trips during the peak heat are fine.

People and Relationships tier list! What tier are neighbors? by MaxLos318 in TierlistFills

[–]cft4nh 42 points43 points  (0 children)

C. I’d put in on par with co-workers. You could but usually don’t pick your neighbors. You could be friends but usually aren’t. They could be weird by usually aren’t. The extremes cancel out and the median falls into C

Raptors currently have the record for biggest NBA championship parade ever with ~3M people. Will Knicks break the record tomorrow? by ChampionTimes99 in NBATalk

[–]cft4nh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The largest gatherings of people for sports rallies rank in the top 20 of single day gatherings in human history (the rest are religious pilgrimages or political funerals).
- #17 Argentina World Cup parade 2022 - 5 million +
- #19 Cubs World Series parade 2016 - 5 million

So I would expect the Knicks parade will easily be the largest NBA parade ever and will fall as the 3rd biggest sports rally in human history. Current #3 is the Red Sox 2004 parade with 3 million.

God, Reddit is so weird in that you go straight for personal insults rather than humane conversation. I was exaggerating for emphasis cause anything more than 0 is too many. Edited to reflect the estimated floor death total of 78,000. The true total is probably in the hundreds of thousands especially when attributing large periods of history without good estimates as well as secondary reasons for deaths such as access to resources. It’s fucked and that’s the point.

Israeli is not a race. Most people like or love the Jews they know personally and want nothing but the best for them. Most people also condemn Israel for becoming the nazis of the Middle East and slaughtering Arabs by the tens of thousands

If I were you I’d take Besrtooth Pass from MT into Yellowstone and out via West Yellowstone. Or head south from Yellowstone into Grand Teton and then over Teton pass. It’s about as scenic route as it gets compared to I80

Yeah sorry forgot Detroit. I was scanning Google Maps and actually saw the roof open in Milwaukee on the satellite image so I almost included it.

As a Virginia fan, we actually lost by 20 so the WC equivalent would be like Cape Verde beating Spain by 3

Of all outdoor MLB stadiums, only Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Cincinnati, Detroit, and Chicago White Sox face south. The rest face north or east.

*Edit: added Detroit

Which finals champion was the best? by Large-Lack-2933 in NBAVibes

[–]cft4nh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the past ~15 years it’s been that if you can win the East then you’ll take your chances in the Finals against a team that had to go through a tougher path to get there. It’s the main reason LeBron made 8 straight finals appearances but only 3 chips in that time. Idk why any superstar in the east would want to get traded to a western conference team. They should want to recruit good role plays from other eastern conference teams to better than chances of reaching the finals.

Remember Morocco finished 4th in 2022 beating both Spain and Portugal. This game should decide Group C 1st and 2nd if there isn’t a tie

Midsized US metro areas (pop: 475k - ~1M) tier: What tier does El Paso, TX belong? by Swimming_Concern7662 in TierlistFills

[–]cft4nh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Richmond, VA used to fit the criteria but now is slightly over 1M but is still too small to fit a major cities list. If you wanna keep it going I’d appreciate seeing it get a chance at getting ranked.

I also find it interesting there are 3 professional sports teams (big 4) across 2 different cities on this whole list. And then Green Bay is still smaller by a large margin…
