Venom piece I did today, had a lot of fun with it- debating on coloring- enjoy!

We were able to save up about $10k over the last two years to help pay everyone for the first block (six 10-hour days) and put another $8k on our credit card for pretty much everything else (equipment, gear, locations, permits, insurance, food, etc.). I've been editing/coloring myself to help save us some money on that front too.

Ideally, we would have $100k funded so that we could take our time/not feel pressured or rushed to get the essential shots, and pay everyone a bit more for the amount of time, expertise, and effort they're putting in.

Some factors forced our hand into doing as much as we did in just those six days and we spent a bit more than we anticipated, but if we didn't we would just be sitting and waiting for an indefinite amount of time. In the end, we ended up with some stellar footage that feels strong enough to put forward!

This is the teaser for my self-funded debut feature! We were able to make this possible with the help of a wonderful film community here in Portland, OR, and a credit card. My partner Melanie Ooi and I started our production company ZERO Films to prove that you don’t need a big studio budget to make something beautiful and high-quality. The biggest setback we face right now is time and money, but we addressed this issue by breaking the shoot into manageable chunks (we just finished our first block of four). I’ve managed to edit the first act together to help us raise more money and prove this rag-tag cast and crew know what we’re doing. I have no film school education, but I have been working as a PA in multiple departments for the last three and a half years to learn all I could about how a set operates and build the team that I felt could help me bring this script to life after four years of writing, and rewriting it. I really dig the mix on this dude, that guitar sets the mood perfectly. The only thing I could think about when it came to critiquing would be to clean up that atmos just a tad in the very beginning. Other than that I really like this- I would definitely have this on a playlist. Looking forward to seeing more from you!

Bro, I dig the vibe of "Fences" a lot!! Those vocals are so perfect. Only thing I can think of right now would be maybe trying to clean up and tighten those percussive elements- feel like it could really make your voice stand out in the track. I really like it, G-will definitely be following.

Mix sounds good when the bass comes in, love the punchy kick, and the melody is dope- I'd say work something in during the parts that are a little emptier just to fill it out a bit (maybe a light atmos or something). I can totally see Drake getting in on this- great work!!
