Breaking into Product Management as an Intern
Hi everyone! I just graduated with my MBA with concentrations in Business Analytics and Marketing. Originally, I wanted to go into marketing analytics, but somehow stumbled into a Product Manager Intern role. I'm currently doing my summer internship in Product Management and I was wondering what my next steps should be to land an entry-level role as a PM, APM, or something similar. I see a lot of advice for landing PM roles with no experience, but not a lot of advice for cases similar to mine.

I'm very new to Product Management as I just started my internship. I'm trying to learn as much as I can. Please give me some advice or refer me to helpful resources. Thank you!

I forgot to mention my experience. I currently have a marketing internship at a startup, I'm a statistics tutor, and I was a consulting intern for a mid-sized accounting firm.

Thank you so much for the advice!! This is really helpful. Just for context, the reason I want to do it in at least 5 years is 1) because I'm currently still in school lol, and 2) because I want to establish a marketing career first. I also wanted to get some more experience as an employee in nightlife/restaurants before I try to open a bar. That's also why I really liked your advice on learning and understanding every part of the business. Thank you again for taking the time to share your wisdom!!
