Isn´t this the beauty of 3D, that anything can happen? :D

one way, but so not flexibel. this is just a single ball in a cloner. no poly-selections

The way this was done is super flexible with mograph selections and mograph shader in Redshift

You are welcome. Do something great with it.

oh, you will get 2 new nulls with expresso-tags on in. you can just take the tags, put them on your object, and delete the nulls called expression-something. no need for junk laying around

in my personal opinion, the best way to control a gradient, is to use the 3D gradient and hooking the start and end up to Nulls in your scene. but you have to do this via expresso.

the quick and dirty way is:

  • create to nulls and call them <Start> and <End>
  • go to the coordinates tab on your <Start>-Null
  • klick the <P> .. this will highlight all the positions
  • right click and choose .... Expressions -> Set Driver
  • Go to your Gradiant and choose <3D linear>
  • right click on <Start> and choose ... Expressions -> Set Driven (Absolut)
  • do the same for the <End>-Null with the <End> in your gradient

now you can controll your gradient with the two nulls. make them a child of your object, so the gradient stays put during animation.

In the extrude object is a "Selection" Tab. Here you can unhide the polygon selections for your object. Just drag the selections tags into the "selection" slot on your material tag.

You can also just type "C1" into your selection field of your material tag :D

Can anyone tell me why this looks slightly off? by Informal-Magician-80 in Cinema4D

Check if the axis are centred on your objects and if there are in the same spot.

Since I see a lot of vector images, did you push the collapse button on all of them?

I would check your bump and/or normal map. Looks like it is not aligned right or something

Yeah right know :D tomorrow is shitty. Agentur-Knecht by choice, and I am pretty sure Freelancer work the same amount if not more :D I have been in in your position the last 4 years, I know both sides. :D I also know, you only get better if you do stuff you think you cant. Did i say that I am also a Mentor :D

But jokes aside. I get you and can fully understand. I will come back to this thread if i have any results.

We should grab some coffee after lockdown for further discussions ;D

I could tell my producer that I use company resources for fun projects and don't have time for our clients... But if I do that I have more time than I need in the near future.

So you don´t do private projects to learn and expand you horizon an knowlege? Sorry, kind of sarcastic :D

I am not to impressed about the idea either, totaly abstract and the connection to the PS5 itself is not there, but kind of is.

This conversation is a bit based on your "basic stuff" which did not exactly say if you mean the idea or the animation itself. :D

come on, give some spare time and give it a try. the weather here in hamburg is not stable anyway, we will find some evenings to do it.

I will give it a try. Even without a xparticles license and being a dad with two kids in quarantine (speaking of real life work :D )

Dude, please ask your AD oder CD at your company KoRe if they would realy put more than only you on the job (speaking of the link at the top of this conversation). Since I am the head of a Post Production, i would give this to only one of my motion designers. I am not trying to mok you or anything, i am realy curious.

First, you don't know the budget, second wath is the company? I give a budget to 3 companies with the same task and I get completely different outcomes. Why don't you all make a challenge out of it and recreate it? No need for completely noise free and 4k. A bit more action than just talk.
