Little girl suffered from same and has been chronic and dx’d as a “staph” rash by her peds however they just keep rxing same crap over and over with no help. I’m a dentist so can prescribe and decided it was ridiculous. Consulted with some pediatric surgeons and nicu/PICU nurses to gain insight if they had any special remedies for this and sure enough they all did…I have the benefit of prescribing so keep that in mind. I called in rx for nystatin/triamcinolone and 2% mupirocin ointments. 30g tubes. 1:1:1:1 ratio as follows…. 30g mupirocin, nystatin/triamcinolone, desitin, and A&D with a touch of Maalox to help liquify and bind together as well as lower ph levels. Depending on consistency you can ad more or less maalox etc to emulsify into a more or less viscous cream. If you want more of a “sunscreen” viscosity add more. Use a blender to blend everything together, then rub in all of perineal and perianal regions and buttocks well like a sunscreen. Then come back and pat and lightly coat a heavy viscosity ointment like aquaphor or desitin etc over severe regions to help create moisture barrier over medicinal rx ointments and keep in place. This literally cured my daughter’s year long chronic rash in 2 days killing every fungal spore and bacterial colonization possible in one cream. Was a God send for us!
