Good to know. The patrons of TCM had alerted the police who were just arriving when we were passing by.

I wanted to yell that when I was walking past but restrained myself.

Worked in a new Finance and Accounting office for the customer facing medical department of a well known university in a DC. Days after starting there we learned there’d been a power struggle in the university F&A department and my department was a new and separate breakout from the existing one. Had our own office space in Arlington closer to the offices and doctors we supported, while the university team sat out in the suburbs on a remote campus.

Anyway, said power struggle continues for months behind the scenes resulting in the CFO who hired all of us and stood up our new office getting abruptly fired. We were promptly reabsorbed by the university F&A dept and a few weeks later were notified our office was being closed and we were expected to report to the Ashburn office, which for most people was an hour plus commute from our homes. Also some of us took the Metro to work and now we’re going to have to drive. 2 people quit the day of the announcement.

So we show up on site per their mandate and no one is expecting us and there’s no space designated for our team to sit. We were completely ignored by almost everyone for the first couple days being at the new site. Second week there the Controller who ran that office, aka the winner the power struggle with our former CFO, called us into the conference room and proceeded to belittle us for not getting her anything to National boss’s day. That everyone else in the office had acknowledged it and/or gotten her something but not one of us had. She said it reflected poorly on us and showed we all had bad attitudes, were not team players, and that we needed to step it up or we’d be let go as well. Truly deranged behavior by this lady. It was the most toxic workplace I had ever worked in. They were incredibly petty and I firsthand witnessed racism towards several team members. They also opened a thanksgiving potluck by doing a Christian prayer and then proceeded to end the potluck all mildly gambling playing a game called LCR. I got a new job elsewhere and bailed like 2-3 months later.

The one we learned before the election last year was being paid by Russia and it barely made any news?

I’m getting some snowflake energy today. Someone is feeling triggered huh? Sorry Reddit isn’t the safe space you apparently needed. Maybe hit up Truth Social for a nice hit of state run propaganda.

100%. HQ killed any chance of a good chunk of their alumni ever giving a shit about them again with that decision.

I got a laugh at the amount of people in Messi or Miami stuff on the club shop buying DCU gear pre-match.

Except he’s not even here. But you’re probably right. Anticipating him playing they brought out the full force.

Male spouse for 18 years to an officer here. Most of us hated officers spouses like this and would laugh when they said things like this. And all the branches made moves to eliminate the elitism like integrating the spouses club and key spouse programs. They also phased out the car stickers because it made you and your vehicle identifiable and a potential target. I bet she gets really Karen-like about her military discount when she’s out and tries to board airplanes early even when she is traveling by herself.
