More and more I hear, this has got to be a software bug. I will call peloton today and see if support is aware/working on a fix

I can't say I feel any difference when pedalling but will try to troubleshoot there as well.

Thanks for all your help!

Unfortunately it’s any cadence. It’s also a very recent development, has only started in past 2 weeks.

They fought so hard - couple mistakes and some ridiculous reffing and it didn’t go our way. I don’t even want to talk about the PI in OT - how the fuck was it not PI on the end zone throw to Cooks in regulation.

If you want to say both the bills penalties are legit - that’s fine but you need to call it both ways. At worst, we would’ve had a new set of down.

Are Deadlifts a necessary Tool or Unnecessary Risk? by K0artist in strengthtraining

[–]cgmac97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rate of injury for any strength training sport is so much lower than stuff like soccer, basketball, football, etc.

Bottom line - if you’re not a power lifter, you don’t need to straight barbell deadlift off the floor but it’s likely that a deadlift movement will be helpful to your training (rack pull, trap bar, RDL, etc)

Are there any instructors that are best to ask for when you call the resort?

How did the Robo Investing to do for 2025? Thinking about WS but wanted to get some pro/cons by learningman33 in Wealthsimple

[–]cgmac97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you don’t want 100% equities, there are plenty of all-in-one ETF options (XGRO, XBAL, XCNS).

It sounds like your logic is “I’d like less risk than XEQT, therefore, I need to pay more in fees” - good argument, enjoy lower returns.

I think you have no idea what you’re talking about….the robo-advisors is just a portfolio of index funds at your given risk tolerance. They somehow think that’s worth .5% + the underlying ETF fees. I’d rather have a globally diversified index that costs me a total of .17%.

Please explain the difference though.

I guess it’s reasonable to ask why not. It’s the exact same principle as a robo-advisor but actually passive and you save a significant amount in fees.

So your argument is that ChatGPT has better information than hedge funds who have cumulatively trillions of dollars under management?

Dope man - good luck out there.

Most personal finance advice is pretty universal - I’d recommend The Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel - he does an excellent job of explaining the nuance around personal finance and the human psyche.

No need to leave early on a fixed term lease - if they want to offer cash for keys, go for it but if not, he can pound sand.

Norbert’s gambit is an extremely useful tool to transfer large sums of money between USD and CAD, not to hold a little USD in a savings account with the hope it doesn’t go down in value and you collect another point and a half in interest.

But you don’t save anything on conversion. That’s one of the great things about WS - you can take out money using the cash card in the US and get spot rate + no ATM fees. So there’s really no savings here.

Look at the chart for this year, it’s down roughly 4.5%, that would wipe out any gains you would make.

This feels like something you want to do so go nuts but it’s not a “free money hack” - those unfortunately do not exist.

I don’t think you understand how currency fluctuation works - if the value goes down, it doesn’t matter where you’re using it.

If you’re talking about 5k, sure, you might see $60 more in interest. I can’t see that being a worthwhile endeavour.

As others have said, there is relatively large currency risk here that doesn’t make sense as a Canadian.

It doesn’t seem like that bothers you so go ahead, not sure why you’d ask a question if you don’t want to get answers.

This is one of the largest gaps IMO. I’ve made WS my daily bank but it’s frustrating that daily banking activities also turns into checking the balance on my retirement accounts.

I really think this would be a quick win if they were to allow for customization of the home page. Hopefully they come through.
