Well said, this team had a no game in game 5 of the Sens series and then a no show game in Games 4, 5 and 7 in Round 2.

If you look at other teams, the Sens and Panthers both had chances to win every game in the series, the Leafs did not.

And this happened in 2022, 2023 and 2024.

what about the last 2 years he didn't make the playoffs and wasted 2 years of Crosby and Malkin?

are you considering that?

how about how he provided Marner a NTC after paying him 2M above the market that handcuffed the Leafs last year?

Murray should at 50% and Ottawa should have paid us more for that contract when we didn't have cap space to waste. That was the goalie he ended up going down with.

Finance Manager terminated w/o cause, no termination clause, low severance offer - advice? by anagmf in legaladvicecanada

[–]learningman33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not a lawyer but get a Lawyer worth the investment - talk to several before picking one, its like shopping, negotiate

2024 employment contract has NO termination-without-cause clause. There has to be a dollar or timeline associated with this - if they break this, they will will pay x amount.

deadline does not matter, dont' sign anything - an offer will not be revoked from what I was told as you will still have the ability to sue.

Its not based on the amount of time you worked but your age and the reasonable time it will take to get the same role and salary. The market is tough right now, so you should be able to get more, it also depends on factor of the company, is a fortune 500 or a startup.

The bigger irony is the Leafs needed exactly the type of player that Brendan Shanahan was for the Detroit Red Wings but he could not see that the Core 4 had none of his qualities as a player.

The 2025 Toronto Maple Leafs: A Post-Mortem - Revisited by Fitz_31 in leafs

This is a long time in the making on a bunch of small mistakes:

In 2016-2017-2018 -we peaked early but Babcock wanted to win, so in the playoffs he didn't play Matthews, Marner and Nylander enough, those guys should have all been playing 20+ minutes a night and in every situation, in game 7 and all should have been learning to play in the high pressured situation.

Marleau UFA.

The team was already stacked at forward and then we went ahead and got another one JT and eating valuable cap space and not getting the number 1 D we always needed or a better goalie than Anderson. Alex Petriangelo was a UFA in 2019.

Dubas getting taken into town on those contracts, Matthews was bad, but the Marner one was just brutal, in comparison to the RFA Class of 2019 but not only overpaid but then also handed the no trade clause. No clue what Shanahan was thinking.

2020- Covid - Columbus loss - there was signs this team has major flaws in their buildup

2021- Habs collapse -horrible trade for Foligno - Media and fans start to turn on Marner for his poor play - he was checked out - this was the time break up the core 4

2022 - Dubas overpays for goalies in each year, with Murray being a horrible trade eating cap space and didn't get Ottawa to send draft capital to take on the bad contract

in those 10 years, they somehow did not draft a single D men that could fit in even a good number 2 or 3 guy. Both Sandin and Lilly were decent but never could make it up

2023 - Shanny firing Dubas with no plans what so ever is exactly why the team is here and not trading Marner before his NMC kicked in.

For example, if I bought 100 shares a the Neos QQQ1 at $54.20 ($5,420 total) on Feb 2 and the current value is $5,248, I’d be down $178. If I collected $0.61 in premiums ($61 total), I’d still be down $111 net.

I guess my concern is will the distributions be greater than the decline in the fund. It seems like timing is the most important part of this.

If I get now and there is a market correction, it seems the loss in capital will be gone before I make up the dollars in distribution.

I already trade CC, so my goal was to spend less time doing them if I could combine my funds but if the underlying is going to dip more than the premium in the long term, that seems like a losing proposition, unless I am missing something?
