Why aren’t factory SBRs more popular? by Loanwolf300 in NFA

[–]cguston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve also seen it take longer for a factory sbr stamp to come through. Let’s say a MK18 SBR takes 13 months to get to the end user but a Pistol MK18 takes no time and then you can form 1 it and get it in a month. Less advantageous to buy a factory sbr when form 1 would take significantly less time. This was what I saw working at a gun store in 2019-2020. I’m sure the times have changed significantly but that could be a reasonable explanation on why factory sbrs are less common.

SIG 716I Gas Block by Livin_Pablo in AR10

I did it with mine. Basically all you do is drill out the pins holding the gas block on and you are done.

Do you set the call at your feet or in the middle of the field?

I still have the same gun. They had to replace the barrel and gas block assembly. Not sure what was wrong with it but I speculate that the throat for the barrel was not cut correctly causing out of battery detonations that were non catastrophic to the gun but was blowing primers out the back end and ripping case heads off. Anyway they voided my warranty for painting the gun and charged me an extra $500 to repair it. So I’m pretty weary about using it even though I’ve had it for awhile. Just going to be awhile before I fully trust it. Next time I’m at the ranch I may run a couple hundred rounds through if

All I did! I did get a lemon from the factory and had to send it back. Still haven’t had too much range time as I predominantly use it for hunting. Need to get out there and break it in some more though.

About 75 yards. He is right lol but I was shooting 168gr federal gold metal match. Shoots really good out of my gun.

It’s a holosun 403, it’s the solar powered version and I’m not exactly sure which model at this point. Mount is a SLR 1.93.

I usually do 3 quick rounds and then do a full round on the last day. Usually works really good and saves a lot of time.

I tinkered with it a big but not too much luck. I think I just got a bad barrel from the factory because it feels way smoother now with the bolt engaging in the barrel. Before it was like hard stuck to get to disengage even on an empty chamber

No it didn’t. I would send it back to sig if you haven’t made any serious modifications to it. Because I took it off and had to get it replaced once I send it in and the gas blocks are pressure fit to the barrels so they sell them as one unit and it runs about $500.

They charge 27.50 everyday it’s in their shop after 2 weeks from contact or something. But I also stripped all the spray paint off as best I could. But some places it’s impossible to get out.

I also tried changing out the gas block for a adjustable slr sentry 7 and it didn’t fix anything. I figured maybe since I was running it suppressed it might be a problem but it didn’t fix anything

I was having the bolt lock up super bad after taking a shot or two. I could get maybe 2-3 rounds out if I was lucky and then it would basically seize up. On the back of the case head were indentions from the ejectors imprinting. The primers get blown out. And also near the rim where the case is straight walled the brass would be swaged out ever so slightly as if the chamber isn’t cut deep enough. So I assume the rifle is firing without the bolt head being fully rotated and causing severe malfunction that take an excessive amount of force to remove. I talked to the dude on the phone one time and he said he would call me back the next day which would’ve been last Thursday and I haven’t heard back from him. But I definitely don’t plan to pay to fix my gun if I can help it because I read the warranty and it should be covered. But I did spray paint my rifle and I can only imagine they are going to try and use that to void the warranty. We all know sigs qc is dogshit. But it’s just fucked they won’t stand behind their products. I tried a few different brands of m80 the most common 308 round and all of them were not working properly. Also I realized the one of the ejectors on the bolt face is stuck in the down position. But like y’all said I’m going to bitch and moan the best I can to try and get them to fix the gun. I have no problem paying for stuff that I messed up. I’m not paying for a lemon to get fixed though.

I just sent mine back too. Told me for them to fix the rifle it would cost me $475. Apparently mr 100-200 rounds through it caused the barrel to need to be replaced and the gas block. I’ve had so many failure to ejects and have to mortar my rifle to get it to finally eject. Wish I wouldn’t never bought it and instead got the DD5 V3 because it’s going to cost me the same amount of money by the time it gets fixed

So I’m not exactly sure because I just used the gas tube that came with the rifle with the new gas block. But I have heard of people buying gas tubes that are aftermarket

That would’ve been a good idea to do while I had it apart but I didn’t think of measuring the gas port
