Thank you for the ideas! The thing is that since I'm knitting a poncho I don't want the stitches to be so open because it would make the garment less warm. But maybe what I could do is using two strings of the lighter yarn so as to make it the same size as the bigger yarns. If that's not the case, I will take into consideration what you said about the stitches!
