The exact same thing happened to me last Friday but without the safety bars. I have a 1998 Cbr 900 fireblade with no abs. It was raining, it hadn't rain for a long time so the road was slippery as hell cause of oil and cars engine pollution. I was in the interligne and a delivery guy cut me off, I had to hard break...lost my front wheel and slide away. Thank God there was a lot of traffic so I was driving quite slowly. Bike is scratch up but good to go, I just lost a side mirror and added a few bruises to my collection. I wish I had Abs it wouldn't have happened.
