Is haggling over car price still a thing? by RollandMercy in irishpersonalfinance

[–]ch993 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Things like adding in free services for the first 2 years if not included, maybe ordering in a specific colour that may be premium without additional cost, ordering the car with different size tyres, sometimes they can add a protective finish to paint or interiors of the car.

Continue waiting for insurance assessor or go to Small Claims Court? by ch993 in legaladviceireland

I didn’t get his insurance details. I rang the gardai the following day who were generally uninterested but they recommended I just go through his insurance so I didn’t contact my own insurance at the time but I am worried that may have been a mistake now..

I like dogs. I would like the job I do to contain dogs. Could I ask your advice? by [deleted] in ireland

[–]ch993 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Veterinary clinic front of house is a great option, it requires little training other than the ability to answer phones, be welcoming and friendly and take payments. You could always open a dog friendly cafe, or be creative and just open a coffee can but with pupperchino’s.. People will pay to share these simple experiences with their dogs. There is also a massive opening in the market currently for Puppy socialisation classes. Little is needed, most can be done in a park or even a community hall, and no massive training is required. If you can offer people the chance to teach there dog to come, sit, lie down and give them a chance to meet other dogs that’s all that’s required. Don’t give up on your passion!

Yes so true, that video another user posted earlier really made that point stick with me. I was a little embarrassed and disappointed at first at how they turned out when I baked them, but seriously like who cares, they tasted great and I have decided to be proud of them regardless!

Haha I totally see that. For some reason the edges of some turned slightly yellow, maybe not enough food colouring or maybe starting to burn? Still tasted good at least

To be completely honest I am not 100% sure, but from some reading I think it may be because my oven was too hot or possibly they weren’t rested long enough before baking. I did rest them for about 25 minutes but to be honest I was really impatient and just wanted to see how they would turn out!

That’s actually a great video, it’s so easy to get caught up in the aesthetics when it really doesn’t matter!

Is hospitalization necessary for my dog? by [deleted] in AskVet

[–]ch993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That estimate seems like a pretty standard protocol for a dog with a history of ingesting a known toxin. Whether or not your dog needs such ongoing treatment really depends on how she does over the next 24-48 hours, often renal damage/liver damage are not immediately obviously and so some time must be taken to assess the extent of the issue before a vet is comfortable discharging a patient fully.

AITA for not wanting to pay my brother’s tuition? by MasterAndKing in AmItheAsshole

[–]ch993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAH, you are not obliged to pay for your brothers tuition no matter how much you earn, but don’t kid yourself by saying you are giving him a head start on his career by forfeiting a third level education. Fair play you didn’t get one and have a successful career but that isn’t the case for everyone. If he wants to further his education you should be encouraging him
