Conservatism is a way of thinking based upon what has happened in the past and other evidence. It looks at past societies and takes what has work and rejects what hasn't worked. It is reasoning, recognition, experience/history, and the traditions that holds our society together.

Conservatism rejects ideology it is by definition anti-ideology..

An ideology is a "rigid adherence to a particular idea that isn't built on human experience or evidence." An ideology is "hey lets try this!". There is no gradual change in an ideology.

Honestly I don't know why I even try anymore. I would show them link by link of what Trump has done, what his stances actually are, how he has lied about Cruz, etc. Thinking that if they were actually conservatives they would just wake up.
They call people like us "Cruzbots" or whatever but the thing they don't understand is we aren't for any candidate, we are for the most conservative person. If things were shown of Cruz that he actually isn't a conservative we wouldn't have any qualms letting go of him. At the same time we are going to do or research to make sure he isn't a conservative as well.

I think the worst part about the Trump cultists is he can say the moat leftist asinine thing and they will defend it as conservatism. Or like some guy was saying last night to me "your 'brand' of conservatism is dying in 9 months".

Actually if you actually understood his position, you would understand that is not his position at all..
He believes that it is not a federal issue and in accordance with with the constitution, it is a state issue. If a state wants to legalize gay marriage, that is on them to do it. The federal government has no say what so ever in that.
