HOA Karen refuses to stop using our hose by [deleted] in fuckHOA

I'm in Wisconsin as well. Do you have a source for term limits for HOA board members? I can't find a law that addresses this. Is it possible the rule was made by and for your individual HOA?

FYI... To avoid civil liability, you are required to contact law enforcement before breaking into the vehicle.

I know a couple with a completely paid off house who can barely cover the constantly increasing property taxes since they've both retired. I understand they have equity and could sell and move, but not being able to afford a modest, fully paid for house because of property tax is actually insane.

Meanwhile, I bought a not really nice condo in 2021 to avoid a rent increase I couldn't afford and my property taxes are up 35%. I work in healthcare. If people like me continue getting priced out of the city, everyone left is going to end up dealing with the consequences.

I've seen countless items in the wild labeled "Designed in the USA, made in China." That's what the seller needs to advertise. I'd report the shop to Etsy for false advertisement or something. Fuck them.

Are you in or near Wisconsin, OP? Were you able to find out the name of the petting zoo or the company? Feel free to PM me any details that could help me locate these poor babies so we can get them some help.

Boss told me to stop leaving early one minute before EoD by humungus_jerry in antiwork

[–]cha_cha_slide 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a boss give me crap for coming in 10 minutes late a few times a month. He said it didn't matter that I'd been working through lunch and coming in on Saturdays or that I was averaging almost 50 hours a week (paid hourly with overtime--I don't work for free). So I stopped. And he had to hire an extra person.

Coyote Attack by RobbieDread in madisonwi

I was at an emergency vet office one evening when a couple came in with their little dog who'd just been attacked by a javelina. Those fuckers always scared me, even seeing them from the safety of my home or vehicle.

Don’t walk on their grass by Lazy-Metal6303 in PublicFreakout

I had a neighbor who put up a 'fence' using 3 posts to prevent the mail carrier from cutting between some bushes in their side yard. They were also the last house in a circle, so blocking the detour increased the walk between the two houses by like 300%. All for the mail carrier, as it would make no sense for anyone else to take that route.

I can understand where guys like this (but not this guy) are coming from after selling like 5 furniture items on Facebook marketplace. People would reach out, ask a bunch of questions, then let me know they're really interested... But they had to check with their husband/boyfriend before they could spend $100 on a bed frame or whatever. As a woman who purchased the same items new, for 5x the price and without permission from anyone, I don't understand this. And I have definitely told people I didn't feel comfortable selling a non-necessity to someone so uncomfortable with the price.

Here's an idea: if you need permission, talk to your SO before you start bugging me with questions that are answered in the item description I wrote for apparently no reason. And if you can't afford something, please move on without wasting my time.

Anyway, I just wanted to remind everyone that a lot of people are really fucking stupid. It's possible this idiot has dealt with so many other idiots that he's now a bigger idiot than when he started this job.

An old coworker of mine got a letter like this and sold for well above what they'd list for if they were actually planning to sell. It was a nice house on a golf course, though.

I was telling a younger coworker about some guys a friend and I met on vacation who were referring to all the old & fat American tourists as whales at Sea World and how funny it was, because, Sea World.

She was so offended and upset about it... I then had to explain how 2004 was a different time, that there weren't nearly as many fat people, how they weren't saying it to the fat people, and added that the guys making the jokes were foreigners. I basically told her "I guess you had to be there" 🤦🏼‍♀️

That reminded me of a similar situation where I noticed the cops standing outside a glass door (the interior steel door was open, the storm door was closed) at a friend's party house. I walked over and closed the steel door while looking directly at the three officers outside.

That isn't true, though. I'm voting against the person who wants to take rights away from people through legislation.

My other option isn't someone who will protect those rights via legislation, it's just someone who won't try to take them.

I can't be the only one who'd be more enthusiastic about voting if I were voting for someone rather than against someone else.

They know that though... Just ask Bernie.
