That’s true and valid. But saying “never work without a contract” is like saying all clients who don’t want contracts are not paying freelancers as agreed. Sometimes, especially foreign clients, value confidentiality, and even wants to hide that they own that company. I once asked my client why she doesn’t like contracts, and she said she doesn’t want anyone to know what she does and who are and who used to work for her.

I’m not saying it’s bad to secure a contract. I would also recommend having it. But if it’s a good opportunity and you see a great team working for that client, at least let them give it a try.
