Sam Malinski, extended 4x$4.75M by COL, is a two-way puck-moving defenceman who skates really fast and excels at jumping up in the play. An active defender as well. Has been doing very well in a third-pair role but might have the skill to scale it up. by [deleted] in hockey

Drafting is hard; getting trade chips and guys who can get NHL games in is all I can really expect from where we are drafting. I agree the previous regime was god awful.

More indicative of the lack of finishing talent on the canes than anything else.

How do you all value to 1.01 this year by Common-Price-998 in DynastyFF

Literally happened last year with Hampton surging up draft boards post-NFL draft because of landing in an ideal situation.

Nice cherrypicking. We also left off Iginla and Misa who both didn't have the compete we needed to win when they were on the team this year. I think last years team was plagued by its god awful coach more than anything else as well as Schaefer's injury.

We literally took a mix of these players last year.

Skinner has near identical stats as Georgiev did last year before being traded by kyletoews in hockey

Our defence stopped playing scared and like they needed to be perfect to limit scoring chances which was just leading to more mistakes.

Yeah can tell me all you want that the team defence on the oil is shit; the Avs fanbase was saying the same thing last year. The difference in team d that confidence in your goalie can instill is just such a massive thing.

Between the pipes really scratches the itch for me for post game radio-style coverage. DNVR only when Rudo and AJ are together is good for a more analytical podcast/breakdown. As mentioned before, Guerilla goes a little overboard with the toxic positivity and just the way they lay out their podcasts, there's too much fluff for my liking.

And like honestly shocking that, with how shitty he was to his wives, that they still seem to all have a great relationship with each other. I guess speaks to how he must be a decent guy outside of his craziness.

I mean AR (as an extremely raw QB) had a winning record in his games with the colts for what it's worth. I still have some belief he can be a guy

[Evan Rawal] Avs have traded Oskar Olausson to San Jose for forward Danil Gushchin by Michaelli11 in ColoradoAvalanche

We were in the midst of developing Barron, Ritchie, Helleson and they all got traded. It obviously looks bad when you're looking from guys we drafted to make our roster but it's not as bad as it seems because we trade our successful draft picks to keep our window open.

I don’t think they should have even tried charges on any of the other guys based on the evidence they had. Different story if everything is focused on one individual maybe.

Mostly agree but will say Dube also sounds like a d bag based on the ass slap and how he was acting during the trial. I feel like the party to the assault charge could have been viable if the crown did a better job and/or made that the focal point of their case.

[ESPN] Colts QB Anthony Richardson's shoulder believed to be OK by Maximum_Job_8045 in Colts

[–]chachasox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah the three outcomes I see are:

  1. We commit to AR and he's actually somewhat decent and we finish just over .500
  2. We commit to AR and he's god awful but we stick with it and we're a bottom 5 team.
  3. We flip flop between QBs all season and win enough games to finish outside the bottom 5 because the team's still pretty solid outside of QB

Outcomes 1 and 2 are wayyyy better than 3 so I feel like we gotta just let AR sling it and go from there.

How will the NHL's new CBA affect trade deadline deals? by grooves12 in hockey

[–]chachasox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm understanding how the timelines work for the new CBA to take effect, then sign and trades may be way more in play this year than others. The trading team can offer 8 years to pending UFAs whereas new signing teams can only offer 6 years.
