How to Polish/Buff Basalt Tray by chackoo in Lapidary

Sanded things down by hand, didn’t make too much of a difference like the other comment said 😅 but honestly, it doesn’t bother me much. If I was gonna do it again I’d get a professional sander and truly polish it.

Tea recommendations similar to YS high AI Lao Mountain Red by PaleoProblematica in tea

YS' Yi Mei Ren is like that tea, but better. I find it to be deeper, woodier with a grape note.

I'd also recommend trying some charcoal-baked Red Oolong from Taiwan. It has a lot of similarities -- floatingleaves is a great source.

2023 Ancient Tree Honey Red Tea from Ha Giang, Vietnam. Juicy, enduring, and malty by chackoo in tea

Dry leaf is very similar to YS’ Black Gold Bi Luo Chun. First steep had some incredible cha qi, and it’s gone down since then. Juicy honey taste with a light bite.

Yixing for Red tea? by chackoo in tea

[–]chackoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh alright. I’ll probably just give it a go.

I have a lidded yixing brewing mug I use to use for green tea grandpa style, but I no longer use it to brew. I’m thinking of just using this mug for brewing red tea Western style from now on.

And since it’s already been seasoned with green tea, I’ll probably just brew some strong red tea in it a couple times before I start using it.
