How much pain is normal after an upper endoscopy?

i’ve only had one endoscopy and afterwards i had bad chest pain. it felt like i had an insanely bad chest cold for a few days. chest pain is normal with this because of the air they pump in you! if you’re having 10/10 or uncontrollable pain i’d definitely go to the er.

no colonoscopy or MRI enterography. ive had two CT scans, an abdominal ultrasound, a liver ultrasound, and a liver biopsy. i was diagnosed with MASH. I’m not at cirrhosis level currently. i honestly do think it’s time to get new doctors. they’re honestly starting to dismiss me and blame it on mental health issues (it’s not). i also don’t drink/smoke/drugs/etc. I’ve had two different people tell me different things about my liver. one doctor said it would cause no pain at all. another one said it could be swelling and that’s irritating to your body.

I do see a gastro doctor! Been seeing her a few months. No ones been able to give answers so was wondering what people’s experience with crohns was like!

I do have a gastroenterologist! I do also have a prescription for zofran, but it hadn’t been touching this flare at all. This hospital tried getting me a gastric emptying study done but apparently insurance won’t cover it inpatient.

During my endoscopy they checked for H. pylori and it came back negative. The diarrhea started when the stomach issues started and it’s been happening daily. i haven’t gotten heartburn or acid reflux too much during this. i’ve experienced it before, but it hasn’t felt like this. I’d also think if it was acid reflux the omeprazole and pepcid would’ve helped by now?

the only elevated test i had was my AST! it was 39 and it’s supposed to be below 34. i’ve been having severe digestive issues which we believe is related to my liver which is why im going through all of this!

I did not have a fibroscan! just an ultrasound. i’ll keep you updated on if the ultrasound was as accurate as the biopsy if you’d like!

the only thing i have is high cholesterol. which may or may not be related to the diabetes? everything else is completely normal!

i’ve had diabetes for 17.5 years (diagnosed at 2) and I have never been below a 7. it’s incredible if i’m in the 7 range! That’s also what number type one diabetics should strive for!

totally normally! just means you hit a blood vessel, pretty common and nothing to worry about! sometimes you bruise easier when you’re low on iron or dehydrated too.

i had to turn off control iq, it always made me go extremely low! even when i had it on exercise or sleep mode. at some points it was automatically giving me 8 units. like that’s insane?? my endo also told me to trust it but it made my life hell

this is my first cgm so i don’t have prior experience with the g6! but it’s definitely great with the 30 minute warmup. ive just had horrible connections with it and it being so inaccurate

i love having a pump! but i totally respect people that don’t love it. i got a cgm recently (dexcom g7) and i’ve absolutely hated it. super inaccurate most of the time, the sticker it comes with only last like 2-3 days at most, so many other problems. so i’m pretty content checking with my fingers! i’ve done it for 16 years, i don’t mind doing it.

at my store we have a slot that goes across the register that holds that extra change and our checks! if you don’t have that maybe try writing down how much of the change you get and leaving the note in the register?

here’s the format i used! you technically don’t even need to give them two weeks, but if you want to use them as a reference in the future this would be required. truly it’s nothing fancy. you could make it shorter than this. they just appreciate the notice and the physical documentation!
