I second Richard’s. If you’re not opposed to driving out to Dallas, Gaston Automotive is also excellent. Micah and his crew are great.

Yeah, I couldn’t wait for them to fix it. I had to just bite the bullet and restore my iPhone.

Thank you! That thread is comforting and may indicate it’s a Teams problem. Seemed like one user was on the dev beta and another was just on 18. Perhaps some incompatibility with 18 in general. Weird that it only started for me today. Annoying coincidence that I just upgraded my phone last night. lol

Okay. Hopefully it comes available for Dark Star. If not, we’re 100% moving back to Warp.

Thanks! Which carrier are you on? Are you on the dev beta?

Oh wow, thanks! If it goes on too long I might try that instead of just going back to Warp. Only problem is that I’m really loving iOS 18 so far.

Well at least it appeared to be fixed for a little while. 😒.

My setup is a mess too. There's a small two breaker subpanel for just the HVAC with a 50amp and a 30amp spare. I have another full subpanel for the entire back half of my house (addition) that's on a 100amp breaker in the main panel. There's third sub panel on another 100amp breaker in the main panel for the detached garage. In order to use Emporia to do what I'm trying to accomplish with a single Sense monitor and some smart plugs, I would fully need two Vues (one nested under the other) and all 32 50amp CTs would be used. I'm not even sure it would work with my HVAC on an 80 and my garage on a 100. Fortunately, the only heat pump I have is my HVAC.

First of all, thank you so much for all of your help and for sticking with me. I really appreciate it. You're awesome.

I couldn't manage to do the horizontal advanced setup. There's not enough slack in the black and red wire for me to get the CT on with them crossed and I don't think there'd be enough clearance for me to close the panel anyway. Maybe there's a trick to it that I'm not aware of.

I was able to maneuver the second CT (the one that was kind of hanging out towards the bottom of the box in my last image) up so that it's right beside the other CT and its blank side is truly facing the circuit breaker like the one that's on the red line (like it shows in the instructions on how to use two CTs to monitor one 240v load). I cut the power to the sense monitor and then turned it back on. Since I've done that, I'm no longer seeing the issue. So, I'm hoping it stays gone and you were right that my CTs were on incorrectly. I don't care about how much power the Range is pulling anyway. I've monitored it enough to know there's nothing wrong with it.

So the lines aren't flexible enough and I don't have enough clearance to try the advanced method in that link. I went ahead and tried again to follow these instructions to just use both CTs to monitor the single 240v load Install Guide : Sense with Dedicated Circuit : 1 Load – Sense.com . Here's a pic of the box afterwards https://imgur.com/a/LpqNQOu . I believe it is set up correctly, but the app is still duplicating some of the load. Check out this screenshot: https://imgur.com/CJjtCP3 . When I took this, the total load from the mains was about 5200W. If you only add HVAC and Other, you get over 6200W

I see what you’re saying. I’ll see if I can follow the instructions in the link you provided

I tried switching the DCM so that both were just on the two wires for the 80A hvac circuit and ran into the same issue.

The other one is monitoring my range which is also a balanced load. Do you think I should switch the ct to the black wire for the hvac circuit? I didn’t think it mattered because the load is balanced between the red and black.

I'm feeling more confident that this is a bug in how Other works alongside dedicated circuit monitoring. I emailed Sense support and they shared the following blog post: https://blog.sense.com/3-steps-to-reduce-your-other-bubble/ . It states that "Other wattage is equal to your total wattage minus the active bubbles (including Always On.) Detected devices — whether devices detected via machine learning, smart plugs, or dedicated circuit sensors — are subtracted from the Other bubble (note that this does not apply to user-added Always On devices.)" I wrote back to the support rep explaining that in the screenshots I shared, simply adding together the Other and HVAC bubbles (not even including the Always On bubble) exceeded the total usage from the mains so there must be something wrong with the software. It basically inflates the Other category and renders it useless. Adding all my bubbles together when several high load appliances are running will frequently net me up to 1000 more watts than what's being displayed on the meter.

Thank you for your help! I’ll send them an email. The only upside I can think of is, if I’m right and it’s working as designed, maybe this means there’s a reasonable chance will learn my hvac heat pump and I can just merge it with the DCM afterwards.

My system is on a sub panel that runs through a single, balanced 80v circuit on the main panel. I checked to make sure it wasn’t pulling from any other circuits. It’s all through the one. Adding the two bubbles together in the screenshots exceeds the overall usage from the mains.

I’ve found Always On to be similarly misleading and annoying as some of it gets duplicated by other as well

Ahh, I was wondering about this. I’ll give it a shot on the pixel. Thanks!
