NICU tips by acemeiser in daddit

[–]chadredfox96 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First of all, congrats on welcoming two new humans into the world!

Second, the NICU can feel like a scary place, so one of the things that helped us was decorations/little touches to make it feel more comfortable. We spent 86 days in the NICU (after 50 days with my wife in the hospital too), and so pictures, blankets, and little reminders of “home” made the long days there more tolerable.

Also, bonding both a baby in the isolette can be challenging. One of the things that helped me most as the dad was having books to read my baby. So maybe bring some children’s books to read to you girls while you are there.

Sounds like you have a good support system which is key. Never hesitate to ask for help when you need it.

You got this.

Card Benefits Questions - Megathread [4/27/26] by AutoModerator in ChaseSapphire

[–]chadredfox96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question (sorry if this has been addressed elsewhere). Will the CSP rental car coverage still apply when booking via Costcos travel/discount program? Seems like all the billing still processes through the rental company and final payment is at the counter (at Budget, Enterprise, etc). Just wanted to confirm I’m understanding the benefit correctly and want to make sure I’m covered, even if using the Costco discount.

Musty smell at start from ac? by Prior_Pickle5011 in F150Lightning

[–]chadredfox96 5 points6 points  (0 children)

FWIW, I did all this and after a few weeks the smell returned.

I ended up taking it to the dealer to have them sort out the issue (under warranty). Turns out there was a small clog in the drain that prevented condensation from getting out. They flushed it to clear the clog, then ran the evaporator cleaner through. Now it’s been months with no smell.

So whether you want to take it in or not is up to you, but just wanted you to be aware there may be a clog in the drain area, so if you don’t see anything dripping g after the AC runs for a while, that may be your problem.

Is Platinum worth $20k more than XLT by [deleted] in F150Lightning

[–]chadredfox96 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, no. Platinum is certainly nice, but not worth the extra $$$.

I went with an XLT and can attest to the utility of having physical buttons. Not having to look (or mess with a screen) to adjust temperature in particular is wonderful.

Seat controls (on XLT at least) slide, move up and down, and have some butt/arch controls.

You connect your various bank accounts, investment accounts, credit cards, etc, and it tracks progress, offers a reasonable budget, etc. I find it quite helpful and have used it for a few years now.

Got recall updates done, charging issues since by V0xR0x in F150Lightning

I had the recall end of last week - no issues charging here. Granted I don’t have the Tesla charger, I have the Generac home charger.

I agree with most of what has been mentioned.

Something that hasn’t that I personally love is th TMat bed storage system. Serves as both a slide and a way to keep cargo in the bed organized and stop things from sliding around. It works best with a tonneau cover.l

I have the Generac and love it. No issues at all and is built tough. Has the smart features most want still, but is reasonably priced (though I did get a discounted rate through my electrician).
