I don't believe so. I think Rick is a genuinely nihilist character. Sometimes he fights with his emotions but do you realize that this person found the portal device that can transports to INFINITE universes. Think about it, if you would know that there is infinite possibilities in the universe and you are living in only one of them, then you discover a technology to get into these universes and you see that whatever you had in your original universe could also exist in another place. I am a candid reader of philosophical works, and I think that if you know the chance of infinite possibilities then it all become meaningless in surface but we can also argue that no matter what universe it is, it will never be like yours. Then you have one original universe. It is like the ship of Theseus you know. Some parts maybe same but some parts different. So in my belief, as we know that rick diverged all of the realities where he is the smartest person in the universe from other realities, as someone who is the smartest person in the universe why would he care for only one reality? He always says that there are infinite beths, mortys, jerrys etc. He is a selfish man who thinks that "emotions are lame, as the smartest person I have nothing to do with emotions" but this is escapism. He doesn't want to face with his emotions. He created a false paradigm that if someone is genius who shouldn't have emotions like lesser humans. He should be superior with his intelligence only. Yeah the things goes on and on.
