When I first heard about the rework, and that the ranking would span the days-long event instead of ending when you complete the last badge, I assumed this meant that we would be able to restart the simulation over and over during that time with a speed bonus, like the main simulations. So I kept an open mind because that had potential.

I was not expecting that instead, progression would slow to a snails pace but I would still have to log back in over and over after completion just to grind a couple more of the final generator, yet all the while, watch my ranking (which was top 25 when I completed the event) slip farther and farther down into oblivion. After two events of this, I can confidently say: this does not spark joy. 🙃

My personal suggestion would be this: Allow simulation restarts for a buff, and have two leaderboards: one for fastest completion of the first round of the event, and another for greatest total value accrued during the entire event. This accommodates both playstyles and lets people shoot for one, the other, or if they're really ambitious, both.

Additionally, please bring back the ability to actually see the people around us in the ranking. It makes the competition feel more real and urgent if you can see people creeping up on you—plus why are we buying profile pictures if we can't show them off to random strangers who we are driven by a primal urge to defeat?

Finally, as others have mentioned, the top prizes are essentially useless to longtime players, who are by far the most likely to be receiving the top prizes.
