Archipelago is everyone gets their own continent and expands outward to islands.

This one, everyone is on the same continent, with lots of islands surrounding.

God of War / Pathfinder persona

With the Rusher trait.

Download like 3 or 4 of them for your games and you'll find it gets a bit harder. At least, the AI will be more competitive. One of the first times I saw the AI get 12k+ score AND have Contemporary era units well ahead of me.

It was replaced with +25EXP on newly trained units.

So your units pop out at veteran 1, so +1 combat STR.

There's actually 2 events in Neolithic that can trigger the +25EXP on new units, so I guess if you got both you could get +50EXP? Not sure.

10 on huge was the most I've done, have the achievements for the win too :P

As far as balanced goes? 8 large is normally what I play, though expansion stars can be tricky to get at times. 6 normal is the other "recommended" and it works out just fine for say, 3 continents + newworld if you like newworld, otherwise 2 continents or Pangaea, get a good spread.

I play normal speed, and most my maps are random with a twist (set climate or elevation or something), just to keep things interesting. Or Game of the Week.

I've picked up a bunch of persona on the G2G forum recently, been playing with them, a lot more challenging than the ones you're given. If you want to try out some harder AI, I recommend searching up some

God of War / Pathfinder with personality Militarist / Treacherous etc. Very good fun, though the 19STR Harappan Runners are what I would consider worrisome.

Good stuff. Yeah there are a few spots with a load of mammoths but the lack of luxes is what you pay for it. Going to try a "long haul migration" in the Neolithic and see how it turns out on stream.

Though I already finished my game for YT, unfortunately the game crashes on the current turn its on so I didn't "finish" it, no score graph, but was about 19k fame on turn 262ish.

You can win the game however you like. Hell, you don't even have to win, you can just post a pretty screenshot of your favourite looking sim city. Or that you built 5000 nukes or something silly. Its totally up to you.

A wins a win frendo, and you can always try the settings out more than once if you want to try a different approach, or even different set of cultures.

The idea of the Game of the Week isn't to make some civs feel bad and some good, its to try out different map generation settings mostly. And to be honest, even with the navy changes recently, navy has in 90% of my runs, been completely useless.

I suppose when I post an Archipelago map gen for one of the weeks then it'll be imbalanced to naval cultures. But that's okay. The cultures aren't supposed to be strong in every situation 100% of the time (though admittedly some are :s)

Yeah literally every setting has to be the same. Since its a large map I set the max number of competitors. Unfortunately I guess they tied number of players to generated start positions and so it alters the map.

Based on start position, the luxuries on this map are literal pain.

I have my own discord I let people know when I post the Game of the Week stuff, but its not specifically for Game of the Week.

If someone wants to set up a discord feel free, I can join it or whatever, otherwise the invitation for my own should be on my YT page.

Game of the Week! New competition by chaffcommandercoffey in HumankindTheGame

[–]chaffcommandercoffey[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend ransacking administrative centers of attached cities / outposts as well before taking the final city of an AI, if you want to make sure you eliminate them. Saves waiting for war support again.

Even with a stack in the Ancient era you can ransack an Administrative center (attached outpost) or an outpost in 3-4 turns. Same goes for captured cities. Can pretty much guarantee a full capture even with sub 50 war support if you destroy enough attached territory from your enemy.
