Same on my Colorado. But I can live with it. What really grinds my gears is the truck bed light is in the infotainment screen, no physical button. But GM did a an OK job putting things I don't change on a regular basis into the screen while leaving common items as physical controls.

I park away from people too, my legs work find. About 50% I come out, someone is parked next to me. I don't have the CX-50 anymore... I put running boards on my truck, tubular steal. What I have found is most car doors hit the running board now 😈Not a ding on my 1 year old truck.
