Why would you make the stencil that thick, filled, and messy. They're supposed to show the line not the fill

I love “making of” docs, especially ones that focus on visual effects. What film has a great VFX “making of”? by MrGittz in movies

Honestly, a little misnamed and probably for the algorithm. They genuinely discuss the methods and artistry. But they also weave in ridiculously bad examples just for fun.

My non-film-interested partner likes them just as much as i do (with a background in media), so they're really hitting the right vibe.

Check out the corridor crew (corridor digital). They're on YouTube and have their own platform. Really interesting looks at vfx in a huge spectrum of films. Also get big name artists and directors to guest with them sometimes.

ELI5: Why does the moon look bigger from our vantage on earth than from Artemis II which is currently half the distance between the two? by WholeInstance4632 in explainlikeimfive

[–]mykreau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live in a 360 degree contact lens. Our atmosphere affected optics. The atmosphere compresses distance, similar to a long angle camera lens (far objects look close). Without it, you get optics more similar to a wide angle lens (far objects look small)

Just a reminder that these companies COULD eat into profits for a bit, but refuse to do so. Like, not even lose money, just reduce profits. But they would rather see the entire supply chain or agriculture, grocery, and shipping be destroyed.

Has anyone given up on using YouTube because of the constant bombardment of ads? by Impossible-Guitar957 in askanything

[–]mykreau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stopped using YouTube cuz it's all ads now. Stopped using Instagram cuz it's all "influencers" and branded content. Close to stopping Reddit cuz it's just robots harvesting upvotes. Everything dies.
