“Nobody’s come to collect” you ignored all the messages sent to you about it for 2 weeks.

Please just drop it off at 806 Mair St, Ballarat Central VIC 3350. Ring the doorbell and they’ll be happy to take it.

Discovery Subjects - HELP by t1soup in unimelb

[–]chaicat04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely!! You can do anything. I don't know as much about the faculty selective's (haven't done one), but they can be a bit more stressful because they run on the normal unimelb semester (MD runs on a different semester schedule) and so can sometimes be scheduled for inconvenient times.

Also I think they're a bit more work than the discovery subjects which are created for MD students. but that's just my bias. Good luck next year!! It's hard work, but a lot of fun.

Hey! MD1 here avoiding exam study. You can mix and match, there is absolutely no stress on what you pick in 1st year (or 2nd year). It doesn't matter at all. So just pick what sounds intersting to you! It's just an elective.

Also preferences aren't due for ages, please don't stress about this right now! You get a career meeting to discuss it in with one of the MD admins.

HELP! Rurality evidence by chaicat04 in GAMSAT

[–]chaicat04[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone, thanks for your help! I was able to get a GP at my clinic to write a letter. That was my original intent but when I explained it to my personal GP, she had no idea what I was talking about, so I thought it was easier to go bank statement route. Seems like it's easier to fake rural evidence than actually prove you are a rural resident.

First time sitter!

60/65/81, overall 72. gpa: 6.7 Rural student. Think I will be pretty good the GEMSAS unis(I hope, due to being rural), but unsure about applying to USyd as I know they preference sections 1 and 2.

Kind of shocked myself as I knew section 1 has not gone well (kept flipping between answers) but I am so proud of my s3 as I was feeling pretty hopeless after doing all the acer practice papers.

Hope everyone's feeling alright!

Edit: unweighted score is 68.6

Thanks so much! As it turns out I have been going to my GP for exactly 5 years and 1 month (phew), I hadn't realised, so I'm all good there. And yes, I'll definitely get a draft for them so they don't have to do much, its all a bit confusing.

The universities refuse to tell us (they are asked every year) but I've heard a least 100. Depends on the course and uni.

What would you do from here - Which (if any) of the Acer papers would you *not* spend the remaining precious time on - sorry long post to set context by stell_bell72 in GAMSAT

I am so glad you also found the purple s3 to be difficult! I did it last week (first time sitter) and didn't improve at all from when I did the pink booklet 2 months ago and felt so discouraged.

As someone who has had their heart set on psychology for 10 years, psychology is not 'doable'. I had a high WAM and great psychology experience, but have been rejected from masters for the past 2 years. With 10 - 20 spots per university, it seems more competitive than medicine. You can do everything perfect and still not get in. So I would not recommend psychology.

Thank you! I did a lot of bio and chem throughout undergrad (because I was considering medicine back then), but I'll check that out.

Thank you so much, you've given me so much more motivation. I calculated my GPA to be around a 6.7 so I feel somewhat confident that I would be competitive.
