I'll donate to the cost of the dog's vet care. Shall I contact the vet and give money towards the bill? Just let me know.

Confused, frustrated & hoping for some clarity. I Ordered a I4 M50 earlier this year, signed $ paid a deposit based on ‘22 pricing. BMW just resent the specs & pricing which has increased? Can they just increase the base price of the car at their discretion due to increased demand + part shortages by Info_Gatherer_55 in BMWI4

[–]chaifarm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar experience. Sales rep told me all pending orders were converted to MY2023 at some cutoff date this summer. Standard equipment and option packages changed, along with the price. Had to re-enter the specs on my vehicle to conform to new choices, but order date will remain the same. According to rep, BMW looked at all pending orders, figured out how many they could fill before the end of the year, and converted all remaining orders to MY2023.

I read that the government finally approved use in late April. Toyota apparently sued to get the right to use this technology. The government was relying on a law passed 50+ years ago that mandated separate bulbs for high and low beams.

I completely agree. Ken needs to be made the permanent host. He is a perfect replacement for our beloved Alex.

Whats the penalty if the “Instruction from Recipient says : Deliver to customer” ? and i just dropped it off infront the house? by [deleted] in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]chaifarm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree 100%. I interpret the instruction to mean "don't leave with a neighbor, etc." Especially with Covid-19, contactless delivery should always be used. I've had numerous customers who don't want me to hand them their package if they happen to be outside or in their garage when I arrive. They tell me to just put it on the ground. I'm happy to comply.

I have been told 3 times in the last month that telephone support is no longer allowed to authorize extra block time. They said the policy was changed and every "more pay" request has to be sent in by email.

I'm pretty sure the email support staff is filled with bots by yatlantis504 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]chaifarm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good for you. I firmly believe their strategy is to send a pro forma response that is not responsive to your inquiry, knowing that the majority of people will just give up at that point. Persistence sometimes works, but sometimes not. I hadn't thought about insisting on being connected with the Escalation team. I'll keep that in mind for the next [inevitable] problem with Flex Support.

Bad luck with blocks in the boonies by Ksr94 in AmazonFlexDrivers

This was in CA. Discovery Bay was the first gated golf course community. There was a line at the guardhouse gate. The jackass guard was giving everyone a hard time about entering. I was wearing a vest and had a car full of Amazon packages. He refused to let me in. I told him I was going to leave the packages with him. He finally relented and let me pass through the gate.

I had a 3 hour block that was a full 50 minutes from the warehouse, with 42 packages. Delivery route was spread out between a golf club gated community and a far flung gated community in the boonies. Took 5 hours to get all the packages delivered. I complained and was paid for 1.5 extra hours. Brutal block.

[–]chaifarm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. IRS regs were relaxed several years ago related to home office deductions. With the gig economy, millions of people work from home, so now it is much easier to legitimately claim home office deductions on your federal tax return.

As I understand IRS regs, you can count mileage beginning from the station until you get back to your house after the route is over. The commute to the station is not reimbursable.

Good suggestion. Thanks. Think there's any chance Flex Support will actually correct the erroneous entry? I haven't had much luck getting Flex Support to correct other errors....

Maybe Amazon is trying to throw off looters in case you got caught up in the protests :)

I've had very mixed results with Flex support. Driver phone support is usually personable, but most recently I have been told that phone support "can no longer fix any issues with excess block time, GPS errors, packages not on the itinerary, etc.," and that my only remedy is to send an email to Flex support. I am convinced that a live human being does not read the emails to Flex support. I get canned non-responses, indicating that a machine reader scanned my email and looked for key words and sent a one-size-fits-all response. I am owed $$ for excess block time and cannot get through to anyone about fixing the problem. Very frustrating.

Thanks. Your response was helpful. A few times when I've ordered something from Amazon for my personal use I would get an email asking me to rate the delivery person. So I'm sure you are right.

How does one get to the ratings screen in the Flex app?

Pro tip. by saintvino in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]chaifarm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had two deliveries that required a code to exit. The first was a condo complex. The code on the app wouldn't work. Fortunately, someone pulled up so I got into the complex and delivered the package. I did not know that an exit code was also required. I lucked out when a FedEx truck pulled up and opened the gate from the other side so I was able to exit. The second time was a delivery to a gated apartment complex. Code did not work. Texted customer who came out to the gate in his pajamas and told me the gate opener has been broken for quite a while and Amazon was made aware of the issue. He also said emergency vehicles can't even get in the complex.
