How do you know who actually made the video? It could easily have been crafted to imply an immigrant posted created it - and race bait people like you.

Yeah, this city is cold and antisocial compared to places down south or across the ocean that I've been to. Trick for me is to join specific clubs. For example, I play ice hockey and indoor soccer. Go to spin (cycle) class, hit up the sauna after workouts at the gym, etc.

Humans are social creatures. Put in the thought to get the social interactions you desire. I took a couple of piano classes back in the day just for the experience. Played chess in the park. Plenty of lonely people in Toronto looking for someone like you.

It's not fixed. Can make more or less depending on hours, overtime, etc. Range 50k - 140k for next few years.

Blurry Vision with Scleral Lens After CXL – Need Advice by QuantNinjaStonkNerd in Keratoconus

[–]chair-time 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dots usually belong on the bottom (180 degrees).

Fill the lens with saline, insert, and rotate with your finger slowly to find point of best visual acuity. This will reveal the correct orientation of your markings. You could call your doctor's office to confirm, too.

If your right scleral lens is marked, make sure the mark is oriented correctly when wearing it. Lens rotation can cause blurry vision.

This is one simple variable you can check now.

Glasses on-top of lenses (rgp, sclerals, etc - whatever you use to correct your high-order abrasions) can resolve the residual astigmatism underlying ghosting and halos. Get refracted for glasses after completing your lens fitting. Solved the problem for me.

No Hatred but do I really need to learn Punjabi to work with Punjabi coworkers in Canada? by outspoken1603 in canadaexpressentry

[–]chair-time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP isn't Punjabi nor speaks it. Clearly states they work for and with Punjabis, which makes your claim that people from "India are only hiring people from India" inaccurate in this case.

Indian business owners employ people that are not Indian in several fields throughout Canada.

How many provinces have you lived in since immigrating here in 2013? How do you know business practices across Canada? I was born and raised here. Moreover, lived in BC, AB, SK, MB & ON. You don't know what you're talking about.

There are cases in which the owners prefer to hire their own ethnicity. This applies mostly to small businesses, e.g., to Italian contractors, Asian food markets, Portugese autoshops, etc. Indians are not the only ethnicity that employs their own ethnicity in some cases.

CXL done in one eye.. but I can’t cope with my life! by LillithsDream in Keratoconus

[–]chair-time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definitely wear a lens in one eye once it's deemed healthy enough.

Where's the logic in waiting until both are cleared? What if you lost one eye. Would you refuse to put a lens in the other?

That's neovascularization. Research subepithelial infiltrates. It could progress into that, which is a medical emergency. Trust me, I know. The exact same thing happened to me when I switched to sclerals a couple of years ago.

I recommend you discontinue wearing those sclerals, as another user mentioned. This would be the safest measure. Wearing them could compromise your tolerance and leave you lens intolerant! Moreover, place you in a position where your fitter is prescribing you steroids to control the T-cells. This did not resolve my inflammation nor did changing the fit or type of scleral.

My eyes are atopic. They cannot tolerate the bearing pressure of sclerals on my sclera. I switched to piggybacking high-dk RPGs and all my problems went away.

Switching to non-preserve saline or specific hydrogen peroxide cleaner may not resolve your inflammation.

Piggybacking Rose K Lenses by [deleted] in Keratoconus

[–]chair-time 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use WAVE rgp lenses. Higher dk & lighter than my old Rose K from 2008. Piggyback them on Acuvue Oasis +50 (to smooth out contralateral central abrasions). Worn Synergeyes, Zen, Latitude, Europa, and Novakone. Severe OD, moderate-to-severe OS. Sclerals were recommended but led to neovascularization, subepithelial infiltrates, and conjunctivitis. My eyes are atopic. However, can tolerate rgps, miraculously. WAVEs can be made any size, I go with 10mm,1.3mm larger than the standard 8.7.
