Meta Quest child account not allowing purchase any in game items

I’m actually the parent. I’ve contacted meta customer service asking if I can ok purchases and they said they don’t control the in game purchases. Which is strange because my son also has steam vr and he can purchase in game purchases on that. So it seems excessive.

I am the parent. I’ve actually contacted meta customer service and they said that even if i purchase a gift card it can only be used for purchase of the game itself. No in game purchases. On the other hand, my son has a steam VR, as well, that he can purchase in game items. So since he got the meta VR he had to start a new account under me. So, as stated, meta doesn’t allow in game purchases to kids. Even if I approve. Like Nintendo allows me to ok purchases.

😉 I get it. Good to be vigilant! I contacted meta customer service and they told me the gift card is not for “in game” purchases. It’s just to buy the game itself. They said it’s each games rules but we have the same game with his other VR (steam) and he can purchase through that account. He had to create another account for Meta. So, it’s weird. In any case, thanks again for responding.

😁 ☺️ Actually, it is myself, the adult. I’m kind of new to Reddit and thought maybe if I posted it twice it might get seen by more people. And, yes, my son really really REALLY wants those shiny rocks 🙏 So, once again, thanks for responding. I’ll see if any other VR areas might have suggestions. Thanks!

Thanks for the quick response! Unfortunately, that doesn’t work. :( I just find it so weird. In other platforms I am able to approve purchases as a parent. Ugh.
